The Count of Monte Cristo Game Review

By Ruff Bismonte

The Count of Monte Cristo game is a casual game rendition of one of Alexander Dumas' most famous works bearing the same name. In this game, you take the role of Edmond Dantes, as you search for clues and hints in various locations to find the person responsible in your betrayal and imprisonment. Well, the game offers not really an exact replica of the novel's story but just some excerpts here and there so I guess that small outline of the game's plot will have to do. And besides, we're here to actually talk about the game, right?

Anyway, the game opens up quite amazingly as you are shown through a series of wonderfully-drawn artwork on the story behind Edmond Dantes' imprisonment. Immediately afterwards, you are already pitted into finding objects pertaining to your list, as most hidden object games go and of course, you should always keep in mind the countdown timer during your play. Basically, you just have to beat each stage to progress further into the story, as the story's cut scenes will be revealed afterwards whenever you move from one level to another. And besides that, I have nothing more to add than just have fun playing the game. :-)

There are a total of 20 different locales to scour through on your hidden object adventure as you sift through 8 suspects who may or may not have caused Edmond's past misery. The game also involves playing through 15 different mini-games ranging from very easy to impossibly hard, and believe me when I say that some of these mini-games can even consume more of your time than the actual seek-and-find game. You will also be able to search through hidden locations on various parts of the land, thus proving me wrong yet again when at first I thought that this is just a very short game.

The Review

The Count of Monte Cristo game employs a very good series of scenes coming from the book coupled with an engaging music that I find very appealing. The overall gameplay is satisfactory, however, I do find the visual presentation of most of the scenes to be quite murky and difficult to stare at for long hours. This presents such a negative impact on the game since most of the time spent in playing hidden object games is through staring at your monitor and concentrating in searching for the objects at hand. Most of the time, I can't even find a single shell from all the clutter, and occasionally, I suffer the consequences of having 30-second penalties from too many mis-clicks.

Many of the mini-games are very hard too, since I spent almost half an hour figuring out even a single checkers puzzle. This basically means that this game is filled with so much challenge, but I still find it too difficult for my taste. Besides, it really hurts my gaming ego during the times I play this game, so I guess I'll just leave it at that. :-P

All in all, The Count of Monte Cristo game can be loads of fun for those that wish for a game filled with a very nice storyline and a challenge that will make you play for hours and hours on end. If you're also prepared to search your way through some detail-lacking sceneries, then please be my guest and take your own crack at this game. Besides, it's always your opinion that counts, right?

Miss Teri Tale Game Review

By Ruff Bismonte

The Miss Teri Tale game coming from casual game developer, Ouat Entertainment, is a hidden-object puzzle game that pits you in an investigation about the mysterious disappearance of a purebred Chinese Crested Dog named Jason. Now, while you may think that finding lost dogs will not really make a good game story, well, I guess we'll just see as we take a good peek at this casual game.

The game's story opens up with an introduction to Teri Tale, a famous mystery and suspense novel writer moving away from the hustle and bustle of New York City to settle in a quiet suburb called Peeking Town. While searching for a good enough story for her next novel, disaster strikes as the prized Chinese Crested Dog of her new friend and neighbor, Abigail Kingsley, was dog-napped without a clue! Seeing this as a good opportunity for a story, as well as a nice way to help her friend, Teri takes it on herself to find the missing dog and catch the culprit behind the mystery.

There's also this little sub-plot about Teri being blackmailed by an unknown shadowy figure through emails, wherein the sender is threatening to pin the crime on an innocent person unless she accepts to find Jason herself. Now, I really don't see the whole point about this additional plot at first since Teri had already been determined to find Jason before the emails, but I discovered during the actual game that the emails' main purpose is to lead Teri on finding her next clues. The mysterious man actually hints Teri about where to search next in the neighborhood, and aside from the occasional comic relief, he's quite useful when you think about it.

The Review

As far as hidden object games go, there's actually nothing new about the Miss Teri Tale game aside from its plot and gaming interface. Not that the game story had that much depth or anything, but I still liked it nonetheless. Also, the graphics and music are very nice as far as you can expect from games of this type and I definitely appreciated the smooth-enough controls.

What I liked best about this game though is the many different avenues wherein the story is being developed. Aside from the blackmails and clues, Teri's mysterious messenger actually adds to the storyline and you can even read more about the discovered evidences through the clipboard and also on Teri's diary. Not to forget the local newspaper, of course, where you'll get more detailed background information on your suspects.

However, the game's overall difficulty very much confuses me. In one hand, you are only given up to 4 items to look for at a given time unless you find it and it gets replaced. This presents a greater challenge than other hidden object games because you really have to focus first on these limited items (and really, they are very difficult to find). On the other hand though, it seems that the game also enables you to get unlimited clues by backtracking to Teri's office. Unlimited clues are great fun, but makes the game boring if you're not playing for the challenge. Can you see here why I'm confused? :)

As a bonus, the game also offers two different mini-games to play. One is a card-matching game wherein you're tasked to find 2 postcards with the same picture and the other one is a Mastermind-like puzzle game wherein you are to bust open security locks by arriving at their correct codes. These mini-games are actually very fun to play, but still are limited to just two.

All in all, the Miss Teri Tale game is a very good game and I bet you'll have a blast playing it just like I did during my testing. It definitely has it's negative traits, but no game is actually perfect from my own standpoint. I suggest getting it and try it out for yourself because I, myself had fun playing it during my testing process.

The New Super Mario Brothers Review

By Philip Strong

Well the super Mario brothers are back but this time their on dual screen. Yep that's right the new Super Mario bros are stomping their way round on your Nintendo DS in their latest adventure to destroy Bowser and his minions. This new rendition is a return to the mushroom kingdom in an attempt to save the princess peach. This Mario game is also a return to the popular 2D side scrolling plat-former. Although a lot of 3D elements in the game such as Mario himself the enemies and some scenery the game-play is essentially 2D. This makes it look new and fresh and stands out more than any other plat-former I have played lately.

New super Mario Bros has many new items and features, including the big mushroom which turns Mario into a giant growing to 10 times the size of normal Mario for a small period of time. Picking up a blue Koopa shell turns the plumber into Shell Mario. In this mode you can when you run you turn into a spinning shell which kills most of the enemies, but is hard to control as it's all over the place. Mario also has more moves at his disposal. He can now swing on ropes, climb ladders, balance on tight ropes, jump up walls, do back flips and triple jump.

The main part of the game is split into 80 stages over eight worlds ranging from dry arid dessert sands land to the crazy mushroom world. Each world has its own unique elements to such as quick sand, swimming water sections, ice blizzards, fire, you get the idea. The game also has a lot of replay value in the main quest because you can go through the game different ways using warp portals. So you can skip certain worlds and go strait to a new one. This doesn't mean that you will miss out on the levels because you will want to return to the worlds to get more stars. A total of 3 stars hidden on each level which unlock bonus items and mini games.

The controls of the game are similar to that of the SNES or the old game boy games, but the touch screen comes into play sometimes as this is where you can have up to 3 power ups stored, such as the mushrooms, flower power or star. So when you feel the need to power up you just touch one of the 3D symbols on the bottom screen.

Graphics...........9/10

Game play........9/10

Sounds.............9/10

Lifespan............9/10

Overall..............9/10

In addition to the main quest the game hosts a wealth of mini games ranging from games like where you have to pick him out of a crowd of characters in a small amount of time. Once you spot Mario you touch him you move on to a harder stage. Another great Minnie game on here is one where you have to stop Mario from falling to his death by drawing a trampoline under his path and redirecting him to safety. Theirs loads of cool mini games like this crammed on to the tiny DS cartridge making this game an excellent value for your money.

So if you are thinking of buying this game then stop thinking and start buying because this is an essential game to own if you have a DS. Just like super Mario galaxy for the Nintendo Wii, this game is a pure joy!

Ghostbusters for the Commodore 64 - Retro Review

By Phil Liddon

I'll never forget the surprise when opening screen the game loaded, a crystal clear speech of a ghost (I assume) exclaiming "Ghostbusters" followed by a demonic laugh. This lead into a near perfect rendition of the Ghostbusters theme tune from the movie, well, if you excuse the fact there were no vocals.

Ok, so on to business, "we're ready to believe you". The first task was to choose your car and equipment. You had to choose between 3 cars, a beetle, the hearse from the movie or a pink sports car. It seemed that the hearse was the best all rounder as you needed to keep some cash spare for your equipment. Some of the equipment were 'nice to haves' and some were essentials. One essential item was a trap which you needed for capturing the ghosts you caught at each location. You also needed a paranormal detector so you could see where a ghost within the town was most likely to appear.

Once you had caught as many ghosts as you could hold, you would then have to return them back to Ghost HQ before hitting the streets again. As activity got stronger and more intense, you could see the gate keeper and the key master moving faster and faster through the town to try and make that fateful rendezvous. As you no doubt know from the film, once they meet then things really start hotting up.

As you progress, you notice that all of the ghosts seemed to be heading for one location situated in the centre of the city, Zuul. As much as you try to prevent this, eventually things get to hard to handle. The infamous marshmallow man starts to appear and deals huge amounts of damage to buildings through the city. If you'd spent some of your starting money on bait then you could keep him at bay for a while.

However, it would soon get to the point of no return and the gate keeper and key master would finally join forces. Once you found the location of the Stay Puff marshmallow man, then it would be time to pay him a visit. This is where the hardest part of the game presented itself. In order to get to the top of the building of Zuul, you first had to get at least two of your men through the legs of Mr Marshmallow.

If you succeeded to do this then you found yourself at the top of the building. Where you had been trying to avoid "crossing the streamers" throughout the game, now was the time to through caution to the wind and give it a try against all odds...

If you haven't ever had the chance to play this before then check it out, there is also a great remake available on the net. There is now also a sequel to the original game and movie planned for next generation consoles staring the original cast of the movie.

Quake Wars Reviewed

By Kirk Jensen

This article will review the good, the bad and the Strogg (lol) of Enemy Territory - Quake Wars and how it will stack up against the upcoming competition.

Enemy Territory - Quake Wars is facing a lot of intense competition in the realm of online PC multi player shooting games. Such contenders are Battlefield 2142 that still draws many devoted gamers, while many hopefuls are saving their cash to get a piece of the following computer video games: Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3, or Call of Duty 4 all of which comes out before Christmas.

The premise of Quake Wars is that it is a multi player game only with no real storyline, but he is the plot non the less: "The human Global Defense Force is battling it out with the Strogg, a repulsive race of alien warmongers. The Strogg has set its sights on Earth and dispatched wave after wave of warriors to conquer our fair planet."

A plus of Quake Wars is that you will not get bored if you cannot find a live person to challenge in its online environment. Most multi player video games are pretty bland when comes to facing off against off-line characters or artificial-intelligence-powered bots as they are called. However with Quake Wars the artificial-intelligence-powered bots are keen, meaning they will definably give you a challenge to face.

The A.I. bots add character to the games overall play. Instead of the bots bumping into each other or moving around like zombies which is typical for most multi player shooter games these bots actually know what they are doing. The bots have the ability to complete tasks and reviving unconscious soldiers including you the gamer.

Of course there is nothing better then when it comes to going head to head with some remotely connected people. You tend to get a sick sense of satisfaction when you can track down a exotically named player whom has been making your game life a living hell and reducing that character to a convulsing scared twit.

Instead of finding yourself lying down or dying a countless number of times like in other multi player shooter games. You can feel more comfortable in knowing that because of the sophisticated A.I. with the bots, dying will not be a commonoccurrence and you can more fully enjoy the game play as well.

As any true gamer will tell you there is a thin line between enjoyment and frustration

Halo - A Gamer's Review

By Joe Robertson

Some say it's just a first person shooter game, some swear by it as a way of life! Halo, a video game developed by the American company Bungie Studios has received cult status in the gaming circles and has often been described by critics and fans alike as the most influential product of its genre.

So what is Halo? It is a sci-fi based video game that deals with the story of a Master Chief-a technically modified humanoid fighter with super powers. Among his powers is included the now famous super body armor and his side-kick, Cortana , an artificial intelligence being; programmed with feminine characteristics.

The story evolves around the epical battle that a futuristic human race enters against Covenant, an oppressive and villainous alliance forged by alien species from various galaxies.

The term from which the game derives its name is taken from an orbital construction called the Halo Megastructure-, which plays a crucial role in the evolution of the plot.

The popularity of the first version, Halo: Combat Evolved led to the creation of subsequent versions, Halo 2 and Halo 3.

The concept has since spread to other genres such as novels, graphic novels and other video games.

The game was featured in Microsoft's Xbox and was the single most decisive factor behind its popularity leading some experts to call it Xbox's "killer application"

This also played a role in the creation of the eponymous term "Halo Killer" which simply means any gaming application that aims at bettering Halo's popularity both commercially and socially.

The commercial success of the series has been undeniable; with Halo 2 breaking all previous records of sales seen before in electronic media and Halo 3 overtaking its predecessor's margins.

Culturally, the game's influence has been far reaching with a whole new generation of fanatics following its every move; the impact is comparable to the Star Wars franchise of the previous generation.

Halo 2 Free Trial Download - Gamer's Review

By Joe Robertson

Halo 2 was the second installment of the cult video game series Halo. Shortly after its release Halo 2 became the ace product on Xbox, holding the status until Gears of War was released for the Xbox 360, two years down the line.

Added to the already popular features of the first edition was a new physics engine known as Havoc physics; the game also featured more sophisticated weapons, multi-player augments and many further powerful vehicles.

The storyline takes off from the thrilling conclusion of Halo: Combat Evolved and the human controller manage two of the protagonists, including the Arbiter, alongside the Master Chief. In 2007, hired Microsoft personnel developed a Windows Vista version.

Halo 2 takes place in the intriguing Halo Universe where the powerful colonizers, the human race face an alien alliance known as the Covenant in a mammoth struggle for galactic supremacy.

The game begins with the trial of ex-Covenant elite who faces enquiry from fellow aliens for his inability to prevent the destruction of Installation: 04, one of the Haloes that the Covenant covets in the quest for an apparent spiritual transcendence through what they call the "great" or ultimate journey.

This event is featured alongside the felicitation of human UNSC commanders, A.J.Johnson and Miranda Keyes besides the Master Chief.

Soon following this event, the Covenant send armed cruiser ships toward Earth carrying enough ammunition to destroy the MAC that provides protection to Earth.

The human army manages to prevent the Covenant attack receiving able support from Master Chief. The Covenant ship manages to find a second Halo called Delta Halo.

The human entourage follows in a ship called In Amber Clad with the specific task of preventing the activation of the Halo and the assassination of The High Prophet called Regret present in the ship.

The dishonored Covenant elite is given a chance to redeem himself and assigned the name of Arbiter. He ultimately becomes aware of the danger that the Halos present to the galaxy and decides to work towards the deactivation of these super-weapons.

Meanwhile, the Flood, a parasitic race infects the city of High Charity owned by the Covenant. The Arbiter along with others manages to prevent the activation of the Halo. The unexpected loss of power in the Halo makes it send a signal to the remaining Halo's and the game ends on a tantalizing note thus setting up the story for Halo 3.

Age of Empires III (PC) Review

By Joe Macmitch

Age of Empires III (PC)

Developer: Ensemble Studios

Difficulty: Easy - Medium

Gameplay: 9/10

Graphics: 8/10

Replay value: 8/10

The Age of Empire name is a long series in the real time strategy realm. With the introduction of Age of Empires 3, players are forwarded several hundred years into the future since the last game by replacing old units like catapults and swordsman for cannons and musketeers.

The game is set in the colonial age with the situation involving conflicts between the many European powers trying to take hold of the New world which is North and South America. The 8 powers struggling for control are the English, French, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, Germans, Portuguese and Ottomans with each faction having differences in its way of economy and military. Though they are very different upon closer inspection, in combat however they share many traits that are the same like buildings and units.

The single player campaign is rich with action and relatively long divided up into 3 sections with each "act" a generation apart. Aside from the campaign, there is the play over a network mode to compete against others to build rank and chat, a skirmish mode which pits you against computer AI with 5 levels of difficulty and the map editor to create your own maps and scenarios. There's also a history section to get in depth detail about each unit, culture, building and weapons.

The interface of the game is similar to those in the Command and Conquer series and Warcraft games with the bars on the bottom for controlling and commanding. The troops form ranks automatically with the obvious melee troops like infantry in front and long ranged attackers like artillery in the rear. This can be a bit of a drag because when moving together, they move at the speed of the slowest attacker which if you have cannons and mortar in the back, the rest of your men will follow that pace as well.

A neat feature in the game is the presence of your home city which acts as your true headquarters looking after your growing colony. In the campaign and multiplayer, you can shift back to your home city at anytime to send more men, resources, workers or just upgrade and polish units that are already available though many are exhausted after one use. Your city also will gain experience and with it, gain higher tiered upgrades for shipments.

The gameplay is fairly direct with typically players advancing through the 5 ages before launching and attack or launching it deep in the ages. A set back however is how choppy it can get when all forces collide in battle, even on good gaming rigs. So while having the best assault force is a key to winning, a good machine churning out steady frame rates is also very important. Another drag to this game is that the match only ends when the enemy's units are all dead. It's pretty pointless since it would have made a lot more sense to end the game when all buildings are lost especially since that hastens the pace of the game.

Those who enjoy the medieval type gameplay in RTS's will enjoy AOE 3 and also those who are just looking for a complex game with great looks and feel.

8.5/10

Hellgate London Review - Maybe Not What You Want to Hear

By Jessica A

There was a lot of hype surrounding this game, and plenty of people were eager to play it. The problem with that is that the game didn't really hold up to all of that hype.

This is not to say that this online game review is here to bash this new game; it wasn't that bad. It was just bland. After you listen to people and media saying all kinds of great things about something, you start to think this is going to be super-awesome, or at least something you've never experienced before.

But there was nothing about this game that was new, incredible, or breathtaking. There were some parts you could get excited about, and it was fun. It's a decent game that could have been a GREAT game if the rest of it was a lot more like those parts.

If you find another Hellgate London review and it says the game was blow-your-brains-out fantastic, or that it even lived up to the public's expectations, they're lying. It's kind of like buttering up your girlfriend or boyfriend instead of telling them that they did something dumb, because you don't want their feelings to be hurt.

One of the other weak points of this game is the ultra confusing stats. It's hard to keep track of each and every weapon doing different kinds of damage. Even so, it's pretty cool to see that it's possible to do different kinds of attacks.

One of the neatest things that I will include in this Hellgate London review is that you are now able to break down items to save on space in your inventory, and you're able to suck up your gold like a vacuum. Which is about as cool as it gets. Remember, if Hellgate London doesn't do it for you.

The Adventures of James Bomb - Game Tips and Review

By Ivan A Cuxeva

If you have browsed the web for unique games which provide the best elements of several good games you have played, then you definitively love hybrids. Online games can be quite good at mixing great things together in order to make one great game, this is the case of the Prince of Persia, Frank's Adventures, Alien Carnage and the Maze/War hybrid called "The adventures of James bomb" As the name implies, the game is based on a guy called James who is a specialist in bombs.

James is placed on a maze which is divided by concrete walls as well as wooden walls which can be blasted away using bombs, behind these fake walls there are many bonuses which vary according to the level you are in, during the first level you may find a red bomb which indicates you are now able to detonate bombs which are far more powerful than the ones you had, the only thing you should remember is that since the explosions are far stronger you should get away fast in order to avoid blasting yourself.

Another bonus is a set of 3 bombs which increases the damage you can inflict by detonating bombs, there are other items which you will find as you advance from level to level such as diamonds which provides you extra lifes, other bonuses may even help you power down your bombs so you don't blast yourself. Invincible shields can be found behind those walls as well. Besides counting with some serious blasting power you have to avoid several enemies which act like the enemies you find in Pacman, these ghosts and monsters roam around the maze and are out to get you, some of the bad ones can even walk across the wooden walls as if there was nothing there so beware of those ghost-like monsters.

You can blast any monster with your bombs. Once you have blasted all the wooden walls and avoided being killed by the monsters you can advance to the next level which will be harder than the first. As you advance new bonuses and bomb types are revealed to you and the number of ghosts, piranhas and monsters increases. If you want to stay alive and have a little insurance for the times you get killed you need to make sure you grab the diamonds as they give you extra lives. Blast all the monsters away and have fun!

Love Hina SIM Online Game Review

By Ivan A Cuxeva

Online games are without a doubt the best way to have some fun on the web, the kind of gaming applications we find today range from arcade, simulation, action, fighting, board, etc all the way to educational applications. While action and board continue to be the favorite types of games for young and early teens, there is yet another category which is becoming very popular due to it's link to Asian animation productions, of course we are talking about SIM or simulation games.

SIMs are gaming applications mostly designed for late teens and young adults, they deliver the full experience when it comes to online dating simulation. These are rather complex games which can't be completed in a few minutes like you would with arcade or action applications. Playing with SIMs will help you get better in common relationships by learning the proper order things should move along in an actual date. For instance you just can't start dating someone you have just met!, well in real life this sometimes happen but most of the time it wouldn't, relationships start by simple conversations, becoming friends, and after a while you can start going out with that person; this is exactly how most SIMs are designed so it is important to get acquainted with the best characteristics you should work on in order to advance as fast as possible.

Now that you understand a little bit better what SIM games are all about then it's time to move on to the actual topic. Love Hina is a Japanese animation production which is based in a young man's daily life (Kentaro) who lives in an apartment complex which is full of beautiful coeds whose names are: Motoko, Shinobu, Kaolla, Mutsumi, Mitsune, etc. After getting to know each and everyone of them he falls in love with Naru but not without first overcoming many obstacles.

Those of you who have watched the anime series know how things developed and also know that there are several "spicy" moments. The simulation game takes all of those factors and puts them together in a very entertaining dating game where you take on Kentaro's problems and "happy" times. For newbies, it is recommended to watch the anime series which will give you an idea of how things work, but for those who are familiar with it you should know that there are three main characteristics you should work on, those are power intelligence and magic; each one of those attributes works well on different coeds you the more you improve your stats the better chances you will have of dating on of the next door girls.

The quality of the game is rather surprising and the town is big, so don't think that just because it is an online game it will be quick and easy. For those Asian animation lovers "Love Hina SIM" game is a must!

Alien Carnage Online Game Review

By Ivan A Cuxeva

When it comes to action, shooting and war type of games, there is nothing better than a mission to annihilate all alien forms which have taken over a spaceship. Alien battle games fuse the best of several worlds, in such applications we find the mixture of may genres which often appeal to teens and young adults. This is the same concept on which games such as DOOM were made.

In websites though, games have been designed to load faster than any other type of game, this is accomplished by using technologies which are very popular and standard in many computers, the most popular platform used is "flash" In most cases, people don't need to upgrade their browsers or download anything else almost all browsers support flash.

Alien Carnage is a great games which can prove to be quite challenging, the game revolves around a spaceship which had all sorts of technology, it was navigating close to mars when it disappeared, for over 30 years no one ever knew what happened to it, until one day it resurfaced mysteriously. During this time, special Ops were sent to take control of the ship and land it in Mars where others would try to find out what happened to it.

The arrival of the special forces - you, the player - is quite difficult as they encounter all sorts of weird alien life forms which are heavily armed and ready to take them down, luckily though, the special op counts with a great weapon and endless ammo, other weapons include grenades and a knife, the grenades are very limited so you need to reserve them until you definitively need them. The first enemy you will encounter is a blue alien which will be shooting at you from the very first time it sees you, so you need to become fast with your keyboard arrows. Since the alien has no mercy you need to jump and dodge the "bullets" while shooting at the alien at the same time.

The first obstacle is somewhat easy to defeat, but the ones to come are harder and harder. You will later encounter a whole lot of spiders which come at you in order to devour you, some crawl the floors others the walls so you need to jump in order to hit the ones which are on the wall and then dodge and shoot at the ones which come from below. If you die at this point don't get discouraged, you'll get the hang of it. Once you pass the spiders the next obstacle will be another blue alien which is more aggressive than the first so you need to take him down as fast as you can, in order to find space zombies which can only be killed if you shoot them in the head! Yes, this game has it all, but compared to other online shooting games, this one can be quite difficult so take your time to learn how to maneuver around the ship and you'll love it!

On Line Games Review - JigSaw Wars From uVme

By Geoff Kitkat

Jigsaw Wars is a fast-paced game where you have to put a simple puzzle together in less time than your opponent. Even though this game seems easy, you can quickly become confused and displaced as you try to put the pieces together. But there are some tools provided that can help.

The first is the Image Preview Tool that allows you to see the completed puzzle anytime you need a reminder of what it looks like. For many who complete puzzles at home, relying at the image on the box is the only way they can put all the pieces together.

The second tool, the Zoom Tool, allows you to zoom in on certain parts of the puzzle so you can see color changes and lines that are distinctive to particular pieces. This can help when you're putting together a puzzle that contains many pieces that look alike.

The third tool is called the Edges Only Tool. This tool removes all the other pieces except the edges so they can be put together first. After these pieces are completed, then you can put together the pieces in the middle of the puzzle.

If you need assistance during this game, look to these tools as they can provide a little extra help along the way. When playing this game and others on Uvme.com, always complete the demo at the beginning of the game so you understand the basic rules and functions. This can help during play. Even if you've played the game before, watch the demo once to see if you've missed any information that can help increase your score.

To win Jigsaw Wars, you must complete the puzzle in less time than your opponent. The clock on the board counts down from 4 minutes, which may seem like too much time, but in reality, it's not. Separating all your pieces may take longer in the beginning, but it will make putting the puzzle together much easier in the end.

Once again, a word of warning with these sorts of 'tea break' games. They look deceptively easy to start with, but to achieve good or tournament-beating scores, you need to practice, and as with all uVme skill games, you can play for free for as long as you like, apart from after 14 days you have to upload about $10 to prove you are a human, then you can play and practice for free for as long as you like.

Ignore my advice, and jump in to challenge people for money and you will get eaten up alive!

Online Games Review - Fruit Frenzy From uVme

By Geoff Kitkat

If you play any of the online games found at Uvme.com, you may have noticed Fruit Frenzy is still the popular favorite. Deceptively simple, this game is colorful, cheerful, but challenging all at the same time. Learning how to make the most of your time can help increase your score and allow you to reach the next level. This means being able to complete rows of three, four and even five without hesitation in order to keep that blender working.

One of the easiest strategies to use is to stay low on the board. Searching for rows to complete can take up too much time. But if you keep your eye on the bottom two rows, you will be able to spot rows that are in need of an extra pineapple or grape. As you complete these rows, the fruit from the upper rows will drop, which will unfreeze some of the fruit as well as any frozen X's.

Another strategy to use is to complete larger rows in order to earn more points and unfreeze and remove more fruit from the board. Even though this will require a keen eye and quick clicks of the mouse, your chances of excelling to the next level are increased. Remember, you will earn bonus points for remaining time you have on the clock after unfreezing all the fruit, so increasing your reaction time is important.

Even though Fruit Frenzy, like many of the games found on Uvme.com is comprised of three or more levels, getting to the top level is difficult for many. But this game is so much fun that you can easily become addicted. Developing a few simple strategies can really help enhance your enjoyment and overall score.

While playing, take note of your strengths and weaknesses.

How can you improve your score? Are you easily distracted by the music or the sound of the blender? If so, turn the volume down.

Once you develop a few strategies of your own, try them out against those who've become pro's at playing Fruit Frenzy. See how well your strategies stack up to theirs. After all, this is what makes Uvme.com so much fun.

Who knows, maybe you'll become the next top player of Fruit Frenzy!

If you want to have a look at this game -take my advice - please don't part with any money straight away, you'll get eaten alive by skilled players of this deceptively easy looking game.

As with all of the leading on line games sites, like King.com. Pogo.com and Miniclip.com get on their site and play for free until you feel confident enough to spend money on challenging your friends. Even that is made easy on all uVme games for you by the inclusion of a Social Network interface.

NHL 08 Review

By Alex A

GamePlay

NHL 08 has some of the best gameplay ever, making it very addicting. The whole game runs smoothly, like a real hockey game,

and you control every aspect in it. The dynamics of the game are great to, the players turn like they are actually on ice instead of running around, they slide a bit before taking a turn, and realistically check and skate on the ice.

Graphics

You can tell EA really went all out this year when every single inch you have skated on is marked with a little line of your skate. Their faces aren't perfect, but pretty much everything else is. The ice looks real, and by the end of the period you can tell it was skated on. You can actually see the fans faces, and the jerseys are another thing, they look marvelous. Every picture/motion is carefully engineered and it shows.

Game Modes

The dynasty mode isn't anything special considering there aren't many new changes. The practice mode is great, there are a variety of options including practice rush, offensive zone, and powerplay where you get to choose the amount of players on the

ice, and is a great way to experiment with different shots.

AI

Truth is, AI is actually pretty smart this year, if you play on superstar, it is hard to score, and provides a good challenge. If someone is shooting, the computer will sometimes tell the players to dive on the ground, which though gets kind of annoying when players are flying around on the ground. Though they are sometimes stupid, it all depends on the well set skill levels.

Sound

NHL games always have realistic sound effects and good songs. This game aslo has both. The checks are bone crushing, and every once in a while you can hear a fan scream. They finally added the announcer "stadium echo" where it sounds like a real echo. The music like I mentioned earlier is good, and really goes well with the game.

Good

Great graphics, great gameplay, one of the greatest hockey games I have ever seen.

Bad

There isn't anything major, but there are a ton of penalties and that gets annoying after a while.

Become Part of a Classic - The Godfather on Xbox360

By Thomas Martinez

There was a time when video games were just about being the hero and saving the day from the enemy. However, as video games and video game systems become more advanced, now you can be so much more than a hero: you can actually interact with characters from a classic movie. If this idea sounds interesting to you, then consider purchasing The Godfather on Xbox360.

About The Godfather on Xbox 360

If you are a fan of the original Godfather movie, then no doubt you are intrigued by the concept of making it into a video game. When Electronic Arts first announced that they were going to make The Godfather on Xbox 360 game (it is also available for PC and Playstation 2), many fans wondered if the game could ever live up to the movie.

According to many gamers who have already played The Godfather on Xbox360, it has lived up to the movie about as well as any video game could. The game is in a 360 perspective, and, although it has it's own unique storyline, it stays true to many original aspects of the movie.

In The Godfather Xbox360 game, you are a character that never was in the movie, but you interact with characters from the movie. The beginning of the game has your character's father being gunned down by enemy mobsters, and you see it all happen in the street.

Then comes a scene in the game which is very similar to the opening wedding scene of the movie. Your character's mother asks the Godfather to take you under his protection. The Godfather then sends Luca Brasi to teach you mobster skills.

Your character in the game then becomes and enforcer for the Corleones. Your role as this is unofficial, but your job is to get merchants to pay you money for protection. Sometimes these merchants will ask you to do favors for them too, in which you deviate from the main game to go on various missions.

This game is not just about extortion missions, however. There are also other storyline missions that you will have to go on. It should be noted that many of these missions are very dangerous, and your character will most likely die many times before you complete the game.

If you would like to purchase The Godfather on Xbox360, simply go to your local video game store. You can also buy this game online through a variety of different websites. Will you complete you mission and become a full-fledged mobster? The only way you can find out is by playing the game!

A Popular Game - Final Fantasy on Xbox360

By Thomas Martinez

Ever since we heard that there was Final Fantasy on Xbox360, there has been nothing but praise and adoration. Final Fantasy is basically a series of computer and console role-playing games that are produced by the company Square Enix, which is considered as being one of the most widely-distributed video game franchises of all time.

The very first installment of the Final Fantasy video games series actually premiered in Japan on December 18, 1987, and then Final Fantasy games have subsequently been localized for markets in such locales as North America, Europe, and Australia, and future installments have been announced to appear on platforms such as the Wii, Xbox360, and PlayStation 3 game systems.

About Final Fantasy on Xbox360

Final Fantasy on Xbox360 is absolutely one of the most popular games out there period, and this is because so many people really and truly love a good role-playing game. There are actually not that many respectable role-playing video games out there, and so Final Fantasy on Xbox360 really takes the cake.

Final Fantasy on Xbox360 is also great for various other reasons, including the fact that this game marks the console's first MMO, giving Xbox360 owners an opportunity for a second life in the persistent world of Vana'diel. There they are able to meet up with hundreds of the world's residents, for conversation, quests, combat, and more.

This is truly a favorite among those role-playing game lovers, and Final Fantasy is a game which actually has been around for quite a while, but, as with most other games, it is has improved incredibly, and so this particular game is truly better than any of the others that have come out in the past.

If you are looking for a great and intricate role-playing video game, then you are absolutely going to want to check this one out, and this is because you are sure to be pleased with what you see in this regards. This game is fun and enjoyable for both children and adults alike, and so regardless of your age, you are sure to have fun while playing this game.

Just make sure that you read some of the reviews and do a bit of research on your own if you are interested in buying this game and have not played it before, so that you will know whether or not it sounds like the sort of game that you would be interested in.

Magic Farm Game Review

By Ruff Bismonte

The Magic Farm game coming from game development company Meridian 93 is a Time Management installment about a young entrepreneur with a magical green thumb off to save her beloved parents. While the theme of the story is not entirely new, there may be still something about this game that holds it interesting, and that's what we'll get to see on this review.

The story of the Magic Farm game starts as a young country girl sets off on a quest to find her long lost parents. Hoping to gather some money for her journey, she then starts to do what she does best - planting flowers and selling them for profit. And that sums up also the game's overall objectives.

Half of the mechanics of the Magic Farm game involves you planting flower plants, watering them and keeping them away from pests until they grow blooms for sell. Buy additional equipment to expand your production and gain experience for you to level up your skills in planting. In later parts, you'll also get to have a companion in the form of a little dragon named Robin. Robin can level up his skills too, making him a very valuable ally as the game goes along.

The other half of this game is an RPG-like adventure that involves you talking to people for the further development of the story. The NPC characters in the game present you tasks and quests to accomplish, thus adding more interest to the whole game experience.

The Review

The Magic Farm game consists of a very engaging story line coupled with visually attractive graphics and relaxing music perfect for the game's mood. The game play is very smooth too and you won't have any trouble clicking through the several items during the actual action game.

The presence of the dragon, Robin, is also very convenient. Besides from being a cute little creature, he's also a great help during the frantic Time Management parts of the game. One bit of trivia: Robin Games is actually Meridian 93's casual gaming branch. You think there's a connection between the two? :-)

Anyway, a little bit of downside to the Magic Farm game is that for every town you're character visit, you'll have to start over from scratch into building another farm. While this may annoy you because of the seeming loss of your progress, it's also one way the game introduces you to more plants, more enemies and more profit from your products. I guess, basing on that, it can be quite a good thing too.

All in all, the Magic Farm game is really an engaging game filled with hours and hours of great story line and game play. I had fun playing it and I suggest you try it out too.

Curse of the Pharaoh - The Quest For Nefertiti Game Review

By Ruff Bismonte

The Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti game is the latest Hidden Object release from education-entertainment programming company, Ph03nix New Media. And since most of the time, Hidden Object games can be so repetitive with the same concept used over and over again, it would be nice to see some changes once in a while. Let's see then how this game fares on this review.

In the Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti game, you play as the adventurous heroine, Anna, as she tries to solve the mysterious disappearance of her brother, William. After receiving a note asking for rescue, Anna sets off to Egypt searching for clues to catch her brother's trail and hopefully recover him in the end. What follows though are a series of puzzles leading to the same discoveries of her brother, and thus, opens up your objectives in this game.

Unlike most games coming from the Hidden Object genre, the Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti game mainly involves a spot-the-difference theme wherein you are to find 10 differences between 2 pictures shown on your screen. Aside from this though, there are also special items you need to find to unlock the hidden areas of the game, where certain puzzles await you. And of course, there are also mini games involved but you have to buy these games with in-game gold found scattered throughout all the levels to gain access.

The Review

One thing I can definitely say is that the Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti game has some very good graphics and sound blending perfectly to its Egyptian theme. The game play is very smooth also and does a great job in preventing you having those annoying miss-clicks. The best part about the game though is that it's not timed and unlike games of this type, the only consequence of frequent error-clicking is that the game lights go out and you're forced to find object differences by using just a small flashlight. This happens for only a minute or so, so I guess having this penalty is really no big deal too.

On the negative side, the Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti game can be relatively easy compared to other Hidden Object games. Another thing to complain about also are the scene borders which sometimes block the differences between critical objects in the game. It seems that the border corners are too big to obstruct your view, but this problem is seldom encountered throughout the game so I guess it can be fine if you have stashed an extra hint to help you out.

All in all, the Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti game can be a really great game for kids due to the ease of most of its puzzles. However, I can say that playing the game can be also fun for adults and the very engaging story line is enough to keep you asking for more, making it an all around interesting game.

Animal Agents Game Review

By Ruff Bismonte

Cerasus Media has delivered quite a good one-two punch with their Animal Agents game, a Hidden Object mystery casual game that offers twice the action, twice the puzzles, and twice the excitement than other games within its genre. And why is that so? Well, let's find out with this review, shall we?

Well, as far as Hidden Object games go, the mechanics of the Animal Agents game is just the same as you may have been used to before. Find all the objects within your list per each level, unlock another part of the story, and then you're done... just as simple as that. But what really sets this game apart is the two unique features I have not yet seen on other Hidden Object games. One is the parallel story lines, and the other is the one of a kind list presentations. And really, with these stuff added to this game, we may be looking at the evolution of the Hidden Object genre and eventually say goodbye to its almost redundant game play.

Anyway, as I said before, the Animal Agents game actually has parallel story lines wherein you get to play each version of the game's story between the two protagonists. At the start of the game, you get to choose between Anna and Justin on how you will tackle your sleuthing adventure and solve the mystery between their two different point of views. These two stories are just the same but each protagonist tackles it on a different approach, thus doubling the overall game time of the adventure. This may also mean that in the end, we may get to see them meet each other, but I won't spoil your fun so that's really for you to find out. :-)

Another unique feature of the Animal Agents game is how the object lists are presented depending on each level. Most of the time in Hidden Object games, we're already used to the static object lists, therefore I'm really glad that I get to experience uniqueness in this game for a change. Anyway, the object lists are presented in either of the following varieties:

1. Traditional object list - what we are already used to see in most Hidden Object games.

2. Silhouette object list - you'll have to pattern the given white silhouettes to the actual objects in the room.

3. Phrase object list - various NPCs in the game are talking to you and instructing you to find particular objects of interest.

4. Sound object list - you have to listen carefully on this one and try to associate the sound with a hidden object.

All in all, the Animal Agents game is really a fun game that fuses a great story line to its one of a kind Hidden Object game play. I really find it very engaging mainly because unlike most games of this type, the Animal Agents game actually offers something new for my senses and from what I know about players is that they really do appreciate experiencing something unique in their choice of game genres. Of course, the game is also not perfect in all ways, but most of its imperfections are just minor things that you can easily overlook - like some unrelated music with respect to the background and some objects unrealistically hidden on a particular scenario.

It's unique, it's challenging and it's fun. And considering its minor flaws, I really suggest you try the Animal Agents game too.

Lemmings For Sony PSP Review - Oh No More Lemmings!

By Neitha Tatum

The lemmings for PSP game is the newest incarnation of the beloved classic Lemmings game originally created for Amiga in 1991. Gamers have been playing this game for a long time and it's only getting better with each new version.

Lemmings are little furry critters that don't have much of a mind of their own. They will walk to their death if someone isn't there to guide them and keep them safe. The object of the game is to keep your lemmings alive. You will have a predetermined amount of lemmings at the start of each level, and you must successfully guide them through the level to the exit while avoiding the dangers that lurk around every corner. There are several types of lemmings; diggers, bashers, climbers, floaters, pickers, bombers, blockers, and builders. You must tell these critters what to do to keep them from dying, such as dig through stuff, bombing stuff, climbing stuff, etc. There will usually be a few casualties as sometimes you have to strategically destroy some lemmings to save the majority. As long as you save the minimum number per level, you move on to the next harder level.

The original Amiga Lemmings game was good for it's time but it was very 90's, poor sound and video resolution. The new Sony PSP Lemmings version is equip with sound fit for a home theater system and video graphics that are truly up to modern gaming standards. The new version also includes several enhancements that either weren't available on the older versions or weren't as good as people would like. The thumb stick has replaced the computer mouse making it easy to move around the screen in levels and scan the entire playing level. You are now able to pause the game while still making changes to the lemmings and scan around the screen, this makes it much easier to keep track of everything that is happening on the level as sometimes things are happening that you can't see without scanning. There is a fast forward button now, this eliminates having to wait for all your little guys to get to the exit. You can, not only, create custom levels, but now you can upload your levels to the internet right from the PSP so other gamers can play and evaluate them.

Lemmings for PSP is truly the next evolution of the game and is well worth playing. I haven't been able to stop playing it since I purchased it. If you like puzzle and logic games, you will love Lemmings. If you have no clue what a lemming is, you are in for a sweet surprise. 2 thumbs up for this one, it is well worth the low (at least for now) price.

Lemmings is a truly exciting and inexpensive game that will make you use your brain and give you many hours of enjoyment. To find out more about the game visit my Lemmings Squidoo Lens. To watch a video by the creators demonstrating the game and it's features, visit my Lemmings video page.

Rock Band Game Review

By Micheal Stevens

Rock Band has one major difference from other music games: it's not just about one person's experience. This is a group effort and the game play is geared towards teamwork. While all the members of your band must be concerned with their own performances, you must work together to earn epic scores in Rock Band. Each instrument comes with its own Overdrive (AKA Star Power) system. Individually, they kick in a x2 multiplier for the player who enters Overdrive. But you can stack other member's Overdrives to creative massive multipliers for the entire group. Get all four members in Overdrive at the same time for a bonus x8. To do this, though, will require some communication between your team members.

In a way, Rock Band is a little like three distinct games built into one. First, there's the guitar game, which lets you play the same sort of game as Guitar Hero on guitar and bass, but with a few differences. For one, the guitar itself different from the Guitar Hero guitars. It's bigger, with a longer neck, and its body feels more solid. The fret buttons are larger, and are flush against the neck of the guitar, and there is a second set of narrower fret buttons all the way down the neck that you can tap on for solos.

Now I'm gonna discuss the singing it is a unique experience compared to the guitar and drums on Rock Band. The instrument you play has no buttons to press and doesn't consist of hundreds of individually-counted notes. Your voice is what you use for this instrument. You don't have to be a good singer you just have to match the pitch line that appears on screen.

Finally there are the drums, easily the most intense and enjoyable instrument of the bunch. The kit consists of a collection of four color-coded pads and a kick pedal, along with a pair of drum sticks. There's really no reference point for the drums portion of the game except for, well, real drums. You hit the pads in time as you would with a realistic drum kit, and on expert, the game practically maps out each song's drum part note for note. Also when you are playing on expert, you are playing the drums. If you play well on expert, you can probably play a decent beat on a real drum set. The good news for beginners is that easy difficulty does a pretty good job of easing you into the act of drumming.

Rock Band is a great game. The presentation elements are top-notch and take music games to a new level, this is an excellent game and i would highly recommend it to anyone. So if you are looking for a place to find rock bank you can just use the link below to go to my blog where there will be a few different game reviews but if you scroll through you will find it with no problem.

Have fun gaming.

God Of War Chains Of Olympus Reviews

By Micheal Stevens

The God of War titles have always been action packed and this one is no different, with intense and gory combat in God of War Chains of Olympus it makes it an excellent adventure just like the previous games. this might be because Kratos' moves appear to be identical to what you'll find in God of War 2. Furthermore, combat is extremely responsive, perfectly mimicking the console versions. This brought back the feeling of previous God of War games and as soon as i got the feeling back i found myself using my favorite combos from the previous games and the best part was the moves performed just like i remembered them.

Not many PSP games can match Chains of Olympus from a visual standpoint, either technically or artistically. Simply maintaining a solid frame rate is impressive enough when you've got a lot characters fighting on-screen at the same time, but when you also have lighting and particle effects, moving backgrounds, and lots of blood, it's even more impressive. The cut scenes alternate between prerendered full-motion video, in-game engine, and concept art brought to life by a bit of animation and camera movement. I found all three to be great.

Just like in the original God of War and its sequel, there's a fair bit of bonus content here. The Challenge of Hades replaces the Challenge of the Gods, but works identically, and there are a number of unlockables for use if you can manage to finish it.

God of War Chains of Olympus is a stellar achievement on the PSP. It fits perfectly into the franchise's storyline and offers up the same level of intense action as its console counterparts. It's also the best looking title on the psp system, without question. Engaging from start to finish, Chains of Olympus is a mandatory purchase for anyone who owns a PSP and doesn't mind getting a little blood on their hands.

So if you like what you have seen and would like to get it for yourself theres a link below where you can find the game and I would also like to mention that there is PSP pack that's red and comes with the God of War Chains of Olympus game, you can also find this if you follow my link below it will take you to my blog that will provide you with both links.

Condemned 2 Bloodshot Reviews

By Micheal Stevens

Condemned 2 bloodshot has some gruesome and fulfilling hand to hand combat with a good number of weapons to help pummel your enemies with. In this demented first-person horror adventure game, you'll impale rioters on rebar, crush the heads of the homeless in a gigantic vise, and force the faces of far freakier foes into toilet bowls. You will enjoy killing your enemies in very gruesome ways and to help it even more this game has excellent grimy visuals.

Against Ethan's will, Condemned 2 drags the protagonist back into action. Things start with a search for the missing Van Horn, an old friend of Ethan's. In this survival horror game, it should come as no surprise that things get crazy fast and the story quickly turns down a supernatural path.

In this game there is a little more focus on shooting then expected but nothing beats the grotesque satisfaction Condemned 2 provides with its weapons of convenience. Toilet seats, bowling balls, broadswords and more are all in play and all a great deal of fun to wield or hurl at an oncoming lunatic.

You'll also be collecting some evidence from murder sites for Rosa at the lab again just like in the first game, but this aspect of the series has been improved. In fact, it requires some actual thought on the part of the player. In some cases, you need to use a black light to spot the pattern of blood and determine how the victim was killed. In others, you inspect electrical panels, a disembodied head, and a series of X-rays. You'll be pressed to answer correctly based on contextual clues and giving correct answers reward you with a better end-level medal, as well as an upgrade to show for it, such as the ability to holster a sidearm, or a boost to your health.

This game is not for children but it is a great game and if you are interested in getting it you can check it out in the link below, this link will take you to my blog where you will find both the xbox 360 version and the ps3 version.

Happy gaming.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum (And, Vista-Dual Core Install Fix)

By Lara Velez

My husband LOVES video games and I do not. LOL. However, we have been doing a study in our Sunday school class about marriage and his need for "shoulder to shoulder" time...or simply put, time to play WITH his wife. So...I thought about it and picked a computer game that I thought would be fun, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.

Product: Roller Coaster tycoon 3 Platinum (it has 3 amusement parks; roller coaster tycoon 3, soaked, and wild.)

Where to Buy: We bought it for a bargain at the going out of business sale at CompUSA, but you can buy it at any electronics or game store, I am sure.

Price: Between $25-$30 maybe less if there are still some left at CompUSA!

Rating: 8

Review: Once my husband and I actually got it installed it is a blast! There are so many things you can do! It has challenges, custom events, a no limits option, and more. You can make a regular amusement park, a zoo, a water park, or a combination...oh, and making coasters is COOL!

It is very user friendly and great for the whole family. It is rated "E" for everyone. I think it's a great gift for a teenager as well. It teaches them about money management and problem solving skills...especially the challenges.

I would recommend the game to anyone. And, go ahead and pay the extra few dollars to get the two additional parks...it makes for more excitement and adventures!

Cons: Unfortunately, there is one big con. We almost gave up. However, there is a fix that I will include at the end of this review. This game is not compatible with Vista UNLESS you use the fix. You will get an annoying error message and will be unable to play the game. This was a real pain, and I had to search and search and try a few fixes before I found a simple one that WORKED! I think Atari needs to get this little glitch fixed. For now though...

The Windows Vista/Dual Core Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum Installation Fix

(note: you can iuse this for regular RCT3 too. Your file will be RCT3.exe instead of RCT3plus.exe

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you follow these directions exactly, otherwise you will have to uninstall the entire game and start all over again.

1. Install the Game.

2. After installation do NOT try to start the game.

3. Delete the desk top shortcut.

4. Then, go into your Atari files located in folder C:\Program Files\Atari\Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and rename RTC3plus.exe to RCT3plus.old. (DO NOT try and delete or override the file. It will NOT work! I tried it. You MUST rename the file.)

5. Then, after you have renamed the file, go to...

For RCT3 Platinum - http://www.securom.com/support/customers/atari/RCT3_wild_t147/rct3plus.zip

For RCT3 regular - http://www.securom.com/support/customers/infogrames/RCT3_t020bl/rct3.zip

These links will open a blank web page and a file download window.

6. From the file download window click open, extract the new RCT3.exe or RCT3plus.exe into the original's folder (where the file you renamed is). OR, you can extract it to your desk top and then open the file, and then drag it into the folder. Whatever is easier for you.

7. Either way, once you have done this, right click on the new RCT3.exe or RCT3plus.exe and create a shortcut to your desk top. (You MUST make sure the old one was deleted or you will mess everything up and have to start all over!)

8. Once you have done this, close all programs, and restart your computer. Once you get back to your desk top, click on your new shortcut and you should be good to go!

If you run into any problems, uninstall and retry. You can also try and visit the roller coaster tycoon forums (rollercoastertycoon3.com)

Have fun!

Video Game Reviews - Tips for Gamers in Writing Video Game Reviews

By Lance Winslow

Let's face it the average video gamer has the attention span of a gnat. so of you are going to catch their attention when writing a video game review you need to do it quick. In other words, start with a 5-star method at the top. How many stars is it worth?

Next you must explain at the bottom who you rate the video games, and your criteria, because a true gamer is not interested in your opinion unless you quantify things. The next critical point of contention in video game review writing is to explain the level of play; is it for a beginner, intermediate or advanced player.

Of course, the feel of the game, responsiveness and speed of play are also extremely important to the video gamer and its okay to tell it like it is. If the graphics are gay or they suck, then say so. How realistic are the characters and scenery? This is where you can go into detail about the landscape, buildings, attire of characters and how they interact, how real to life is it?

Another significant factor is the point system; is it fair, does it cheat the gamer, and are there ways to boost the point score using various strategies and tricks. If you really want your gaming reviews to get the five stars that you only give the very best video games that you review, then you must give the gamer pointers and tricks to better their scores, and better their chances of winning. Tips and tricks are the most interesting points of any gaming review, so don't let us down.

Lost Odyssey

By Kristen Barghout

Now at first I was dubious about this game, after all, Mistwalker did create Blue Dragon, a game that is not only ridiculously long, but the story is not as compelling as an RPG requires in order to keep the gamers attention. Now, don't get me wrong, I love RPG's, and at first I really enjoyed Blue Dragon. I loved the Akira Toriyama style of characters, as I am a huge fan of the Dragonball/Z/GT series, and the fact that we FINALLY had a real RPG on the 360. But, that can only take you so far, and after 20 hours of gaming, I gave up due to the poor plot and character development. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

However, I decided to give Mistwalker another chance, more so because of the difference in style between the two games. And I am so glad that I did! Lost Odyssey brings you everything that you could possibly hope for from an RPG. IT has beautiful scenery, characters and cut-scenes. The plot development, though obvious in places, is there. The story is not long winded and tedious.

Now, the box says that the game is photo-realistic. Let me tell you, it isn't, and the day games are photo realistic is the day they are banned. However, there have been times IN GAME where the camera has suddenly focussed on a character and I have thought, that looks near real. Now, bare in mind this is IN GAME graphics, the cut scenes are even more impressive.

Also, one of the other things that truly impresses me in this game is the character development. The immortals have lost their memories and are trying to find them. When they find them, a text scene ensues which you can either read or skip, but you see the characters reaction to their own memories, and at times, I too have 'felt' their pain..weird.

One of the best things, and it is such a small thing, but a really nice touch, is that when characters start to cry, you see the tears actually build up in their eyes before they fall down their cheeks...I have never seen this style implemented in ANY game before and found that this small thing actually made such a difference to the game. As if by including the build up of tears, actually made the characters express more emotion.

Obviously, as with any game there are flaws, but not enough to stop me from playing. The voice acting is brilliant, the character design and development is on a level that I have never witnessed before, and the plot, so far, has been engrossing and completely enjoyable.

So, if you find you have any spare cash, and you are one for RPG's, I would strongly advise you to go out and purchase this game...and maybe a strategy guide, because it is one purchase you will not regret.

Tecmo Bowl Review for the NES

By Jon Ferraro

Tecmo Bowl has to stand up as one, if no the greatest sports video game of all time.

If you think that is an overstatement just think back to when this game came out in 1988. Prior to Tecmo Bowl, can you remember a time when you played a sports game that involved the real players?

The amazement one had when he saw the names MARINO and ELWAY on the monitor. You were actually able to control the great Jerry Rice. Of course, this may seem like an informality now, but it was incredibly cutting edge at the time.

Where would sports video games be without Tecmo Bowl?

Would we still be playing the same generic characters. They all looked the same and had the same character traits.

Not only was it revolutionary from that aspect but it was an incredibly fun game to play. You could look back and say it was simple. But that's exactly what made it so great. It seems that most football video games nowadays have absolutely no life to them. The developers are so preoccupied with making the current video games look and play as much as the real life game, that they forgot to actually throw some fun in the formula.

You don't need to read the instruction booklet to understand how to play the game. You don't even need to understand the game of football to Tecmo Bowl. Simple gameplay and simple design can still lead to incredible results. Just because the current video game crop has the world's most advanced technology doesn't necessarily make it an enjoyable game. I hope video game developers can think about that for their next game.
