Nintendo Wii Game Console - A Revolution!

By Michael L Pratt

The NintendoWii game console has become a huge hit, so massively popular that it remains difficult to find it in stock. New controllers & games that are released are
being snapped up as fast as retailers can get them on the shelves!

The Nintendo wii console itself is downright tiny--easily the smallest and lightest of the new generation of game machines. At 1.75 inches high by 6.25 inches wide by 8.5 inches deep (when set-up horizontally), it is, as Nintendo promised, about the size of three DVD cases.

Unlike other gaming consoles, the overall design of Nintendo Wii is very simple, making everything easy to connect and install. The back-wards compatibility of Nintendo Wii, means you can go online to the Virtual Console area of the Games Shop to download classic games released for NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Game cube, Sega Genesis, and Turbo Grafx16.

That equals serious savings if you have these older Nintendo systems and games already at home.

The Nintendo Wii comes with 512 mega bytes of internal memory for storing saved games, downloaded Virtual Console titles, and other data. If that half-gigabyte of onboard storage is not enough for you, the wii console has a standard Secure Digital card slot for additional storage.

SD cards are cheap and plentiful, (the same cards used for other electronics), and the Wii's use of them is a refreshing change from the proprietary memory cards used by older game consoles. Way to go Nintendo wii!

The gaming experience is awesome. When there are so many possibilities, so many wii games, it challenges creativity in ways that are hard to overcome on occasion, that is a very cool problem to have!

These Nintendo Wii controllers are what really set this system in a class by itโ€™s self. These controllers are motion-sensitive, meaning the movement of the player and controller affects game play, so when you move your arm and controller up and down - your character also moves their arm & what ever they are holding up and down- cool huh!

These Nintendo Wii accessories are made to look and feel like whatever experience they attempt to emulate, and they succeed in a big way.

Get your new Nintendo wii game console right now, today. Before someone beats you to it! They still remain very hard to get, but you can buy nintendo wii right now. Plus many other wii items are available for you to select from. go ahead, you'll be glad you did. Nintendo wii isn't #1 for nothing.

Virtual Surfing Gets Personal

By Richard Young

A new video surfing game, "Waikiki Surf Challenge," is a PC-compatible game in which the player(s) try to score as many points as possible by hitting floating tikis while maneuvering on a threatening wave complete with man-eating sharks and treacherous reefs. The graphics and animation are all up to par with other top-selling surfing video games and operation is via the computer keyboard arrows or one's favorite compatible game control. Points are also scored by tricks the rider is able to perform... like aerials, cutbacks, and floaters... just like the real thing.

Some might have experienced the video surfing game through a company which rents it out complete with real surfboards mounted on motion sensors to control the movement of the on-screen surfer. And while the original surf simulators are out of reach for most of us, "Waikiki Surf Challenge" is the actual game used by this company offered in what might be considered a mini-version of the original! It might seem that taking away the real surfboard controls would put this game into the realm of the ordinary. However, "Waikiki Surf Challenge" is unique in a sea of similar products based on the personalization options it offers.

Messages like a birthday wish on the opening and closing banners of the game... a message and photo appearing in the background that's seen between the waves' rise and fall... and, most notably, a talking surfer bearing the customer's head and message that appears every time a wipeout occurs make the game almost as fun for spectators as it is for the players. The personalization is accomplished by customers, when purchasing a game, provide their desired message and photo which the company then incorporates into the game graphics prior to shipping it out to them.

The game is available to both individual users as well as companies or organizations that might wish to utilize the personalization options for advertising and promotional purposes.

The author, Richard Young, is the creator of hawaiibeachcombers.com, a website about Hawaii beaches. This article follows last week's launching of http://www.VideoSurfHawaii.com, the online source for the "Waikiki Surf Challenge" personalized video surf game.

Buying the Best Wii Bundle - 'Guitar Hero III'

By William Devan

Why Should You Buy the 'Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock' Bundle?

Hot New Guitar:

One of the best reasons to pick up the Wii Guitar Hero III Bundle is the Les Paul Wireless Guitar Controller; it's comes standard in white but can be customized, personalized thanks to innovative, removable faceplates (and stickers). What better

way to look and feel like a Guitar Legend than by strapping on a classic Gibson electric guitar; to get started simply remove the jacket from the Wiimote and slot it in place. The guitar utilizes the wireless capabilities, accelerometer, rumble feature and speaker of the Wii Remote so unsurprisingly is described as 'the best of the guitar peripherals' with the vibration option and an improved longer strum bar receiving special praise. One industry critic described it as follows, "GH3's new Les Paul model kicks ass in every way imaginable; its wireless, the shape feels more comfortable, and the fret buttons and strum bar are as smooth as butter."

The Genuine Guitar Legend Experience:

Besides having the best Guitar Controller on the market this bundle comes with a 71 song soundtrack headlined by such classics as 'Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Rock You Like a Hurricane' that includes master tracks as well as new versions exclusive to the game; most critics have praised the soundtrack for its song selection and quantity of original masters. On top of an authentic Gibson axe the GH3 software contains brand new venues, impressive lighting and realistic on stage character moves not to mention an array of exclusive unlockable content to spice things up. These elements combine to create the most legitimate virtual rockstar gaming experience out there.

Raise Your Game/Build Your Community:

There's nothing like friendly competition if you aim to gain 'Legend' status in your gaming and music communities. Test yourself by going solo or in tandem with a buddy by facing off: 1) in the action packed multiplayer Battle mode in your very own living room concert amphitheatre or 2) compete online against aspiring rock guitar heroes from around the world. If you really want to make a name for yourself in your immediate social network or the larger international arena go one step further by taking down the actual legends themselves in Boss mode where you face off against icons such as Slash and Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine and AudioSlave fame) before squaring up to the Devil himself (assuming you want to win your soul back).

Not only does the 'Legends of Rock' package rock out with the most realistic amplified six string controller in the gaming world, the makers of the software also managed to get the biggest icons in Rock n Roll on board (including the lead guitarist from Guns n Roses) and their classic, original licensed master tapes too; now that's a coup.

The GH3 package includes:

(1) Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Software for Wii™ (2) Guitar Hero WIRELESS Les Paul Guitar Controller (4) AA batteries (2) Les Paul Guitar Faceplate (white) (2) GuitarHeroStickerPack

(2) Standard 1" Wide Guitar Strap

Lego Indiana Jones Review

By Tonia Jordan

Lego Indiana Jones, a video game for the Playstation 2 system (versions available for other major systems, as well) is a Lego re-creation of the classic trilogy of Indiana Jones films (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade). That means Lego toy characters play through the plots of the three films. This Lego game is highly entertaining and quite challenging at times. It's definitely worth the buy!

Fans of Lego and fans of Indiana Jones will love this game. Kids will love it (and with only mild cartoon violence - rated E for Everyone, 10+ - it's appropriate for most age groups), and adults will enjoy it, too!

For me, the two player option is among the best aspects of this game. A second player can join in or drop out at any time, and it makes solving the game's puzzles a little easier at times to have that second player helping out.

There isn't a single thing I dislike about this game. At times the puzzles can be tough to figure out, but the game is so much fun that I can't lose my patience in figuring them out! With unlimited "lives" the game lets you try again and again until you find the right course. Each character uses a different tool or weapon, so you end up utilizing all of the available characters (over 60 of them!) at some point during the game.

When I finished playing the game, I wanted to play it again! Another great thing about this game is that there are two modes of play: Story Mode and Freeplay Mode. Once you play through the story, you have the option of going back into each level and playing with a variety of characters. More secrets are available upon the second time through, including secret, unlockable characters!

This game made me laugh out loud on several occasions! The creative re-creations of certain key scenes from the films are hilarious!

I recommend this game because it's so much fun! It is honestly one of the most fun games I've ever played. Alone or with a partner, this game provides hours of entertainment!

My husband and I are both in our late 20s, so this game is just perfect for us. We grew up on these films (and after playing Lego Star Wars, we just had to give this one a try), but we also enjoy playing these games with our nieces and nephews who can appreciate the Lego humor, too. Next on Lego's list is a Lego Batman game, available Fall 2008. You can bet I'll be playing that game, too!

Battleship Midway

By Robert R Smith

Midway is a real-time 3D tactical strategy game that adapts the naval battles of the Second World War. It introduces how the naval warfare changed during WW2 from the early memory of Battle of Jutland (The greatest naval battle of the First World War. Jutland had all the ingredients to be a great British naval victory, but in the event the result was much less clear-cut) which were to be the forerunners of modern carriers. Midway can be played on Xbox 360 and PC, the game takes place from the time the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in December 1941, and the Battle of Midway the following June. The story plays out as seen through the eyes of Naval recruit Henry Walker, as he is promoted in rank during the Pacific Theatre while fighting the naval battle against the Japanese.

Midway is not a visually stunning game but I think the graphics are very acceptable and the game moves along with a smooth even flow even in large complex battles which is something we can all appreciate. Audio wise the sounds sound true to life, or rather I should say true to what you would expect after watching the WWII movies about these battles.

There are around a dozen missions that will take Walker from the Day of Infamy on the Hawaiian island of Oahu as a PT boat gunner, to commander of a small fleet of US Navy ships. Gameplay focuses on the wider scale of the battles, by following the progression of the war in the Pacific through Henry's eyes, injecting a personal angle into the game play of sea-based conflicts. It's a way of giving the game a more personal feel which helps you develop a more realistic experience for the game as it moves on.

This strategy action game stands out for a number of reasons, because of its ability to create a tense and busy battlefield at what is ultimately a sedate pace of gaming at least in the first stages of the game as it builds to the full scale sea battles that you will face. Just like the real battles it is much like a game of chess or Battleships, where in some of the later missions players command ports, airfields, and an entire naval fleet of units, positioning your units and being prepared for action. This may not be ideal for everybody, but it's the patient build up and positioning of your units before launching batteries of artillery, torpedoes, and AA flak against enemy units that gives Midway an edge.

Don't be fooled as the game starts at a trivial pace, it are not long before you find it rising pretty sharply. The first few missions are straightforward and you may well complete them on the first go, and they can also be accomplished in quick succession, making the inevitable steep learning curve several levels in, all the more dramatic. Midway does balance the frustration and humiliation of defeat with the desire to give it another shot very well. Even when you get blown out of the water the first couple of minutes for the tenth time something that will happen, there's this pull to coming up with a better strategy to guarantee your success a strategy that seems to be working fine until you realize that it has in fact guarantees another defeat. You soon become determined to win the day and prevail, and after a few miss calculations, even the toughest missions can prove to be attainable.

As the player you have the option to take direct control of any single unit, or take command of the fleet like an armchair Naval Commander, you will be issuing commands to the entire force. A full-screen map, stylized to resemble a naval map, offers players a bird's eye view of the battlefield, displaying the positions of all known units. From here, it's seems easy to issue orders to engage with specific enemy forces, or you can jump into a unit to take direct control. As some of the more massive attacks on the Japanese war machine take place it becomes difficult to find a required unit. With so many units under the player's control, the map can quickly become cluttered with everything from PT boats and Landing Crafts, to Aircraft Carriers and B-17 Bombers, that results in it becoming even more difficult to see find and utilize your units affectively. The interface could also be improved for issuing orders from the Navy's ports, aircraft carriers, and airfields as I believe that many a commander was wanting during the actual conflict. For instance, if a B-17 Flying Fortress has dropped its payload, and is holding its position, there's nothing to distinguish it on the airfield interface from a second squadron of B-17s that hasn't dropped its bombs both units are displayed with an In flight symbol, making it difficult to choose the correct squadron to call on.

But it's not even the creation and execution of a strategy that sometimes makes Midway a deceivingly manic game to play. The numerous ships that form the US naval fleet, have their own damage systems much like in true life, you will have to keep track and balance them. Water, fire, and the loss of maneuvering and weapon systems can quickly spell the end of the mission if they're not carefully looked after, which can lead to frantic jumps between the action and the damage control screens, as you desperately try to priorities the ship's repairs. If your strategy sinks faster than a damaged submarine, then the sedate action of the Pacific War will all too quickly become crazy, as you find your self jumping from besieged vessel to besieged vessel, trying to assigning repair tasks to engineers and crews before you loose another unit.

Midway will put you in the intense action with the epic, large-scale naval combat and brings to life the great Pacific battles of World War II experience it for yourself.

On Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core

By Nicholas Prieve

If you're thinking about buying or downloading crisis core, spend no more time on the matter because it is worth it.

I have always been a fan of the series however I have learned to hold back my joy until I have my dirty little hands on the game and know it is a winner. While Square-Enix has released a host of terrific games, there have been some that are less than stellar to be sure.

Action:The game is certainly long enough, however it is an action RPG, so if that turns you off, it may not be the right game. The battle system was actually lacking a bit. Most of the first half of the adventure is hack and slash and the second half involved staying alive long enough to cast the powerhouse spells, pray for the right limit breaks, and fuse materia until your eyes are bleeding.

Story: Final fantasy storylines usually are fairly amazing. This one is no exception. Probobly the best feature of the game, the story got into the heavy issues of notions of god, man vs. machine, genetic modification, jealously, anger and all of the other subjects that make a person keep reading. This is bar none the best aspect of the game because it fills in many of the blanks left by the notorious Final Fantasy 7. This is enough reason alone to buy the game.

Graphics: Terrific. Enough said. I was blown away and for the first time, really saw the power of the PSP engine. You are treated to stunning summoning visuals, great in-game cutscenes and a very decorated enviornment to play in. There is a good deal of eye candy to be seen here.

Replay value: High. New game plus allows the player to go back and pick up all the goodies they missed out on. Without a strategy guide, it would be pretty easy to miss a good portion of the game and there are enough secrets to unlock that it gives the player plenty of value.

Overall, the game was very good. I give it an 8.5/10. It would be higher but for the somewhat boring and random combat system.

Soul Calibur IV

By Sharudin Rahmat

This latest installment in the Soul Calibur series will be released July 29, 2008. One of the first surprises is a guest character, Darth Vader of Star Wars fame. It also has a limited edition guide. Soul Calibur IV continues the ongoing struggle of good vs. evil being pitted against its anti-thesis, Soul Edge the cursed sword.

Expanded customization options allow you to give your character a more personalized look and feel in addition to unique skills and abilities. You can customized your characters and original favorites online as well. Another surprise in store for Soul Calibur fans: Yoda, another favorite from Star Wars will be challenging Soul Calibur warriors for the fate and future of the both the Soul Calibur sword and Soul Edge sword.

There are multiple game-play modes including:

1) Story

2) Arcade

3) Tower of Reminiscence

4) Training Practice

5) Character Creation

6) Museum View

In Soul Calibur IV we finally discover the origins of the Soul Calibur saga, and the motivation behind their possession: vengeance, honor and salvation. With its spectacular graphics and stunning visual affects, whether you are a Playstation 3 fan or Xbox, this game is an absolute must have.

It is important to note some of the following tips: Darth Vader will be a guest character on PS3 and Jedi Master Yoda on Xbox 360. The Apprentice is a key character in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and is a playable character on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Soul Calibur IV. In the Tower of Lost Souls, the player will fight in special battles to gain rewards. Choosing your character's clothing will not just affect their abilities in battle but also their appearance. Active Matching Battle (AMB) is a unique factor as it allows a character to fight multiple battles simultaneously under different circumstances. Under the new Critical Finish system there will be a Soul Gauge underneath the Health Meter. It fills up when you are on the attack and decreases when you are on guard. When that meter empties your enemy can strike you and break off part of your armor, altering your appearance and weakening you for the rest of the match. If you empty out your opponent's Soul Gauge again, you have an opportunity to perform a Critical Finish move and kill the opponent instantly by pressing all four face buttons at the same time. I don't know about you but I cannot wait until July 29th!

Not to be missed! Pre-order Soul Calibur IV now!

Star Wars-Empire at War - Epic Space and Ground Battles

By Scott J Meyer

If you are a fan of Real-Time Strategy games, and a Star Wars buff, then Star Wars: Empire at War is the game for you. Created by LucasArts and Petroglyph, Star Wars: Empire at War (further abbreviated as SW:EAW) allows players to fight on the ground and in the space above over forty planets in the Star Wars universe. While the main focus is on tactical control, players also get a grand overview of the galaxy from which you can control and purchase new units and buildings. Overall, SW:EAW is the best RTS of its type.

The game focuses on conflicts between the Empire and Rebel forces just before the fourth movie. Each side has its own units, although both have the same types generally. Both sides also have a campaign, which gives the player missions complete, although you can control what units to purchase and where to attack. SW:EAW's other main element is Galactic Conquest, an open campaign where the player selects which scenario (which sets the number of planets), starting money (called credits), and technology level. Tech levels are also important, unlocking new units and building types. Finally, SW:EAW is rounded off by an instant action mode, also available on multiplayer.

The greatest action and fun to be had is in the space battles. Everything a Star Wars fan could hope for and more can be found in these epic battles. Every ship present in the movies is present, from small fighters like Tie's and X-Wings to capital ships, like Imperial Star Destroyers and Mon Calamari Cruisers, the Rebellion equivalent. At least one side usually has a space station, from which upgrades and units and be purchased (units only in Instant Action), and the Empire can construct the Death Star in Galactic Conquests. Larger ships and stations have hardpoints which can be specifically attacked, so players can take down the most important systems first. Visuals and sound are magnificent and sound "realistic" to Star Wars.

Ground battles also involve many of the same qualities, but seem to be much more constrained. There is still a great variety of units, but the maps seem too small. While space battles allow lots of movement, ground battles can be slow as units traverse the battleground. The attacker must capture reinforcement points to bring in more units, and points around the battlefield can be captured and built into different turrets or support buildings. The AI won't win any awards either, mainly just coming straight at you, but the visuals are still great.

An expansion pack, Forces of Corruption, has been released since SW:EAW's launch, which adds a new faction with all new units and buildings and more planets. I would recommend picking up the dual pack of both games, since the expansion is great. I have also barely touched on the galactic overview part of the campaigns. This game is a great addition to the RTS genre and brings Star Wars into it in a good way. With a great variety and almost unlimited replayability, Star Wars and RTS fans alike should pick up this fantastic title.

Resident Evil 4 - Wii Edition Review

By Shaun Mcgarry

Resident Evil 4 is a horror FPS game that does things differently compared to the other Resident Evil games.

You play as Leon Kennedy, a survivor of the Raccoon City incident that occurred during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3. He now works for that government and is sent on a mission of find and rescue the President's daughter who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult. There's a sighting of the President's daughter in an isolated village in Europe and Leon investigates. While he is there the villagers start attacking him for an unknown reason so Leon has to find the President's daughter and find out the secret of the village.

There are no zombies this time around. I know what you're probably thinking. 'But its a Resident Evil game, the only thing you do is shoot zombies'. Yes, that is true but they have been replaced by something so original (/sarcasm) that it will make you think, 'Wow, why didn't I think of that.' Possessed humans, fully equipped with pitchforks, axes, knifes, other whatnot that has a sharp end and dynamite sticks.

Gone are the absolutely horrible (and somehow awesome) 'frozen' camera angles. Instead of the camera pointing at you in some awkward position, the camera is in an over-the-shoulder position which is alright but it seems like its been done, which it has, many times before.

Almost the entire game is an escort mission. I hate escort missions especially if they make the NPC who's following you a complete idiot. Unfortunately sometimes in this game, your partner does something so stupid that it makes you not want to care about her and just push her into a mob of charging bloodthirsty villagers.

The guns in this game range from pathetic to freaking' awesome. You start off with a handgun and, if you are like me and chose the easy mode (which I'm pretty sure is Wii exclusive), a shotgun. You eventually get a sniper rifle that is hopeless in a close-up situation, a rocket launcher and a few different types of grenades like the hand and flash grenade.

The enemies are good and bad at the same time. The case for the game says that the enemies work together but I've never seen them once perform this feat. The enemies react differently to where you shoot them. Shoot them in the feet and they stumble to the ground. Shoot them in the arm and they drop their weapon. Shoot them in the head and they die, sometimes.

Ammo is everywhere in this game. They are in boxes, the enemies drop it but you can't buy them from the salesman who looks like one of 'them' and will turn on you at any moment. When you run out of ammo, you are screwed. This time you have a knife if you run out of ammo so you aren't as screwed as you would be if you ran out of ammo in any other Resident Evil game.

The whole game takes some advantage to the Wii's motion sensing capabilities. You aim using the wiimote, slice the knife by shaking the wiimote and that's actually it but I don't blame the lack of motion sensing abilities because that's really all you can do with it.

In short, this is another Resident Evil game, just revamped with a whole new way to play. I highly suggest buying it and keeping it.

World in Conflict - Excellent Story, Excellent Graphics, and Excellent Game Play

By Scott J Meyer

Immense destruction, beautiful graphics, and a chillingly plausible storyline. You want this in a Real-Time Strategy game? Massive Entertainment's World in Conflict delivers all this and so much more. World in Conflict (WiC) takes place in 1989, after the Cold War turned into World War Three. The single player plot puts you in control of a company of American troops trying to control a Soviet invasion of Seattle. I won't go into the story too much, but it is excellent, and more than once gave me goosebumps. However, multiplayer shines above even that, making for a very well-rounded game. WiC deserves its title of 2007 Strategy Game of the Year.

Single player puts you in the role of a Lt. Parker, just as the Soviets invade Seattle. The campaign is of average length, but involves good mission variety. WiC is not so much a typical RTS, with no base-building or resource management. Instead, the player gets a set amount of reinforcement points, which can be used to bring in different units. Once units are destroyed, their points eventually return to the pool, allowing you to repurchase additional units. Most units also have an offensive and defensive ability, giving them an extra push when needed. The other big point to the game is Tactical Aid. As you fight the enemy and take over control points, you gain TA points, which can be used for radar scans, artillery barrages, and airstrikes. It is extremely fulfilling to watch your artillery fall upon the enemy forces, or watch them walk right into your tank buster's line of fire. All portrayed in the most beautiful way I have ever seen in an RTS, with every object being destructible, and every artillery round leaving a crater.

As I said, multiplayer is where WiC comes into its own. Most servers are dedicated, not personally hosted, so there are always servers to be played on. When you enter a server, you can choose between the US/NATO or the USSR, and also a certain role. Multiplayer revolves around fulfilling your role, choosing from infantry, armor, air, and support. Infantry and armor are self-explanatory, air allows you to control helicopters, and support gives you powerful artillery and anti-air units. Different game types are also available: domination, which is taking more control points than the enemy; assault, where one side attacks the other's control points and then switches to defense on the same map; and tug-of-war, where one team must take a row of control points to push a frontline forward. The level of destruction is unprecedented, with up to 16 players throwing in dozens of air and artillery strikes upon the beautifully rendered scenery. Tactical nuclear weapons are also seen occasionally.

I will not lie; when I first saw WiC I was not overly excited, because it did not seem to reach the veteran RTS player. But after playing it for many hours, I can tell this will be one of my all time favorite RTS's. I love the story, I love the multiplayer, I love the graphics, and I love the gameplay. This is simply an awesome game. If you are looking to get into the RTS genre, then this is a great learning game for beginners. If you are an RTS vet and looking for something more, then WiC will deliver its great content in good fashion. I highly recommend World in Conflict, and will be playing it for time to come.

Nintendo Wii Fit - Review Part 1

By Michael L Pratt

Wii fit is a popular "game" for the Nintendo wii game console, so popular it remains hard to buy the wii fit in retail stores. wii is a great way to shape up & trim down, it is actually fun to shed a few pounds. Not like run of the mill exercises & diets, that rarely work, and cost too much. Nintendo's wii fit is really fun, easy to set-up and a blast. I highly recommend the wii fit to anyone. Pick one up and we can say good-bye to those over-priced diet and exercise plans that are time consuming and boring. Let's get some Nintendo wii fitness.

A two-part wii fit review...

Introduction:

Every thing needed is included in the box, well, except for the wii console, which you need to purchase separately.

Wii Fit's activities break down into four categories: balance games, yoga, aerobics, strength training. However, before you get to those, there is a required Body Test where you enter some simple information (height, age) and complete a brief balance test, then wait a few seconds for the Wii Fit to respond. Respond it does, with your body-mass index, or BMI, and "Wii Fit Age"- the system's judgment of how old you are based on your performance and body characteristics. (believe me, that in it self can be pretty funny).

Balance Games:

This by far is the most popular segment of Nintendo wii fit, not surprisingly
these where a favorite with the testers as-well. Choices included ski slalom, where you race down a course, shifting your weight from side to side passing between the flags. This was quite amusing to watch. Ski jump, where you race & compete in an Olympic Nordic-style event. Soccer, where you "head butt" the ball, (or at least try), as it comes at you while avoiding flying objects like smelly cleats and goofy panda heads. My favorite; table tilt, here you try to maneuver a table to drop a ball through a hole, this was an absolute blast. Ninety-eight percent of the testers felt their balance was definitely challenged, and all of them found the experience fun. In short, a really big thumbs-up.

The wii fit balance board games are great and can really get your legs & mid-section toned and trim.

In part 2 we'll take a look at some other games for Nintendo wii fit, and I'll give a final conclusion. So-far, It's a definite buy, hands down.

Everyone knows how awesome the nintendo wii game console is. Thats the problem, they are hard to find anywhere! Being #1 world wide, thats really not surprising. The good news is you can get one right here, right now. nintendo wii game console - you know you want one.

Nintendo Wii Fit - Review Part 2

By Michael L Pratt

We have already discussed wii fits balance games, in a word, awesome. Now we'll move onto Yoga, Aerobics, and Strength training, ready?

YOGA:

It's funny, the testers had a choice of several postures. Most of the guys chose the more macho "warrior pose," while the gals tended to choose the "half moon" or "tree" pose.

The Nintendo wii fit yoga segment had nice visual effects. Your indicator for doing a yoga pose correctly was keeping a red dot within a yellow colored rectangle on the screen. The red dot represented your "center". However, testers could keep the dot centered in the yellow rectangle even while doing the yoga pose in the wrong way.

Correctly practicing yoga requires a trained instructor to guide newbies through the proper techniques. For an experienced individual, the Wii could provide a different way to practice. For beginners, my advice - seek professional Inst. first if your serious about yoga.

AEROBICS:

Only two of the four aerobic games available at basic play level, hula-hoop and basic step, were used by testers. Why? We wanted to keep the wii fit Balance Board active in the process; two other activities involved jogging in place- off the board, and were not used. In basic step, you step on and off the board to a musical rhythm, trying to keep up with your onscreen class. In hula-hoop, you swivel your hips as fast as you can while reaching out to catch additional hoops thrown to you from the sides.

Testers found the activities fun & entertaining. Aerobically it wasn't too much of a challenge. The hula-hoop segment was more of a work out than basic step. Half the females who did the hula-hoop stated they got some muscular workout.

STRENGTH:

Testers could choose among torso twists, single leg extensions, lunges, and push-ups. The push-ups are done with your hands placed on the wii fit Board. Testers found the strength activities challenging in both strength and balance, with just about everyone rating the "exercises" enjoyable. It is possible to get a workout; it all depends on your current level of fitness.

CONCLUSION:

The nintendo Wii Fit provides entertainment, that's a no-brainer. But will enhance your fitness, again, yes - no question about it when it's played daily. For folks who need a nudge to get off the couch, and those interested in a different, healthier approach to video gaming, the Wii Fit definitely offers an appealing choice. Even very fit players find the challenge to master the games, and whole body involvement, enough to keep them going. Nintendo wii game console & the wii fit are definitely worth buying.

Everyone loves video games, and this will really "get you moving".

Nintendo wii is the most exciting game console to come along. Nintendo wii game console offers so much more than simply playing video games, it is an extremely interactive experience. Get actively & phyisically involved while having a blast doing it. wii is the #1 game console world wide, grab yours right now.

Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare Game Review

By Zakiah Rohman

CoD4 (Call of Duty 4) has all the criteria of an award-winning first person shooter, complete with riveting action, solid storyline and a diverse scenario to keep gamers anticipating and anxious for more. The game deserve the 'Game of The Year' title, if Metal Solid Gear 4 had not budgeted in :)

The game begins with 22nd SAS Regiment member Captain Price guiding your opening character, Sergeant John 'Soap' MacTavish, thought a brief training mission to infiltrate a cargo ship. Once you pick up an important data, enemy jets rush in for an attach, forcing you, Captain Price and the platoon to scramble off the ship with it start to sink, with fire blazing around you. And that is just the beginning.

CoD4 (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) has a nice way of telling the story. Rather than going through cut scene and subtext, developer Infinity Ward give gamer a first-person view of the missions.

For instance, right after the cargo ship incident, you will be shown a scene where foreigner leader is being beaten up and carried into a car. Here gamer see the action from captive's eyes. You will get to witness all the atrocities unleash by the rebel through you city.

At your destination, you are introduced to Al-Asad, the revolution leader who walks up to you, point a gun in your face and shoot. Now, that is a powerful start. That is not all, If you have ever wondered how it feel like seeing city decimate by a nuclear device from the back of helicopter, well this is your lucky day. The sequence is just so realistic with the panicked pilot on radio and your helicopter spiraling to ground with the aftershock. I still get chills watching that.

There is also a mission which has you in control of high-caliber machine guns and cannons on a souped-up B-52 Bomber, aptly named Death From Above, blowing enemy infantry away so a friendly platoon can get through the area.

The best thing about CoD4 (Call of Duty 4) is the way they show you objectives. On screen, there will be a compass where a yellow marker point towards your objective and a distance meter to tell you how far you from it. Even with all that, you find that you are lost, just list to your radio and you will hear your commanding officer barking orders on what to do next.

The single player mode sets you back six to seven hours with difficulty levels ranging from pansy to veteran to choose from but if you have four other controllers, you can team up with your pals on splits screen excursions with mission separate from single player mode.

Graphically, CoD4 (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) captures the environment of war-town town, wet and dark jungle, dry and dusty field, coupled with the constant chatter on the radio, the realistic blast of bomb and the sound of bullets whizzing past, the game comprehensively takes you into a war zone

Supreme Commander - RTS of Unprecendented Scale

By Scott J Meyer

So you've been playing through your Real-Time Strategy games and are starting to get bored with the same thing over and over. You want something bigger, better, more complex. Well, Gas Powered Games has given us Supreme Commander, an RTS of unprecedented scale. And I mean enormous; you don't make a base of a few buildings, you use dozens, and hundreds more in resources farms. You don't build a couple tanks and send them to wipe out the enemy. You build strategic missiles and long-range artillery to soften up the enemy, then move your army of 200 units into their base. Supreme Commander (popularly called SupCom) is unbelievably large, and sets a new standard for RTS.

The story takes place in 3844 A.D., after humans have colonized much of the galaxy. After several events, three factions emerge: the United Earth Federation, trying to restore order to the galaxy; the Cybran nation, a group of human-AI cyborgs trying to liberate their brethren; and the Aeon Illuminate, humans taught "The Way" by an alien race and trying to spread their beliefs throughout the rest of mankind. You start in any battle with an Armored Command Unit or ACU. This is the base unit, and allows you to begin construction of all other units and buildings.

The ACU is supported by engineers, who can build more buildings but at a slower pace. Air, land, and naval factories produce units, while mass extractors and power generators produce resources. Mass is used in the building process, and energy is used to run buildings and units. Resources are stockpiled in storage, but if you run out, you don't stop building. The more resources you use that you don't actually have, the slower you produce units and buildings. Factories can be upgraded from Tech 1 to Techs 2 and 3, allowing production of better units and better engineers, who can build higher level buildings.

Overall, each faction can produce around 30-40 different unit types and around the same number of different buildings. At a low level, each faction's units perform about the same, but at the higher levels they diversify. Each faction also gets three unique experimental units which can easily turn the tide of battle, but are very expensive to produce.

SupCom's single-player campaign gives each of the three factions six missions. While it doesn't seem like much, each mission expands several times, and can last several hours. In the first few, the player is confined to low level units, which can prove quite boring. The only way to defeat your enemy is to build large numbers of units and continually throw them at the enemy. In the last two missions, you gain access to Tech 3 units and buildings, allowing you to come up with your own strategies. The skirmish and multiplayer modes make up for this, with many maps and options to play with. The maps range in size from 5km x 5km to 81km x 81km. The largest maps are perhaps the biggest even seen in RTS, and can take many hours to complete. SupCom also has in all probability the most nuclear explosions per round in any game. To win, you must destroy the enemy's ACU, which explodes in a nuclear fashion. Nuclear missiles are also the best way to destroy the enemy's base. However, every attack has a defense, and nuclear missiles can be stopped.

So, if you are experienced with RTS's and are looking for something more, check out Supreme Commander. It does have a steep learning curve, so I would only recommend it for experienced players. The scale is enormous, and allows players to come up with multiple strategies so that no game ever plays the same way. For those tired of traditional RTS's, SupCom brings a whole new definition and level of play.

Assassin's Creed XBOX360 Review

By Jonathan Setzer

System: Xbox 360

Year Released: 2008
Graphics: 7
Gameplay: 9
Sound: 5
Lifespan: Short
Pros: Expansive levels, great combat control
Cons: I was only really able to play it nonstop once
Overall: 8.5

Assassin's Creed was a phenomenal game, I was absolutely glued to my Xbox for the hours it took me to beat it. I have played games like it before (Hitman most notably) where the AI seems very...well A, if you catch my drift.

In this game, the townspeople notice when you are there, and also know if you are doing something out of the ordinary (i.e., climbing walls, running). This game's AI was one of the most interactive I have seen, in most games, NPC"s repeat the same phrases to where it gets annoying very quick. For this game you get very close to the end of the game before you start to notice the pattern in what they are set to say.

The storyline was very in-depth seeming almost possible, (or maybe it is) and the ending has quite a good twist, but not one I exactly agree with. They leave it open for a sequel but I do feel the need for closure.

I may be a little biased, seeing as I am very in to the medieval times and others like it, but I can't see why anyone would dislike this game. The combat mode is in 3rd person and lets you individually select enemies out of a crowd of foes to focus your fury and optimize your deadly force.

You start out as Desmond Miles, who is kidnapped and forced into a machine called the "Animus" which, using a new technology called gene mapping, lets them replay the memory of your ancestor Altair Ibn La-Ahad (Son of None) who was an assassin during the era of King Richard and the Knights Templar.

Within your first use of the Animus it is apparent they are looking for something, what that is you will have to play to find out...

More in depth of the Pro's:

The levels are very expansive and every peak is at your whim. From the highest tower to the poor district of Jerusalem you can climb, jump, and run anywhere and everywhere. If you have drawn the attention of guards, you can blend in with priests or with the crowd. One thing I find that makes the game seem more feasible is the way the health is metered. In many games you either have a health bar, regenerating bar, or none at all. In this game, when you move off of the original memory of Altair, such as killing a guard or becoming injured, you begin to become lose synchronization with the memory and in order to get your "health" back you must regain synchronization. If you die as Altair, you are moved back to the Animus screen with a message similar to "Would you like to go back to the last memory mapped?"

More in depth with the Con's:

This game really had no faults in my eyes, that is, until I beat the game. Meaning, I have not wanted to go back and play because I have no reason, I have finished the storyline and killed more than my fair share of Templar Knights. Most games have many side missions that can keep you interested after the main campaign has been completed, but only saving poor women and collecting the thousands of town flags remain.

This has been one of my favorite single player games in a while, so I give it an 8.5/10.

What About Nintendo Wii??

By Emma Fong

Nintendo Wii Active Gaming The Nintendo Wii is a revolutionary gaming system that allows you to really feel like you are doing the games you are playing. Right out of the box it is ready for you to enjoy.

With Wii Sports you can play five sports right in your home and feel almost like you are playing for real. You can take the court with tennis, hit the lanes in bowling, take the field in baseball, visit the green in golf, and step into the ring in boxing. Besides Wii Sports there several other sports games have been released for the Nintendo Wii that use the revolutionary capabilities of the Wii to create an active video game experience. Just a two examples are Showtime Championship Boxing and Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games. Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games is among the more interesting somewhat active games considering it has several different games to play and can be fun as a multiplayer game. The games are not always very active, but it does have some good active games including rowing and the swimming events.

There are also several other Nintendo Wii games out there that are active, although, you have to be selective as some are just regular video games that do not use the active capabilities of the Wii. One of the best active games that has been released is Wii Fit. This game is an interactive exercise video game. The closest thing it can be compared to is an exercise video, but it is much more than just that. It further makes the Nintendo Wii revolutionary through the addition of the Wii balance board, which gives the added functionality that allows you to do the included exercises and activities as an interactive video gaming experience with the Nintendo Wii.

To some of the more hardcore gamers the Wii Fit may seem too explicitly like exercising to be enjoyable as a video game. There are still other fun active gaming options, such as the snow skiing game called We Ski, which uses the balance board as skis and the Wii remote and nunchuck as ski poles.

Another good active game for the Nintendo Wii is Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party. This game is available for several gaming systems, but the Wii version makes the game more active than the others. Beyond giving your legs a workout with the dance pad the Wii version adds hand gestures by using the motion sensing technology of the Wii remote and nunchuck. This makes it a fun dancing video game that is active gaming for the whole body.

Another option for more active Nintendo Wii video gaming is Rock Band, especially if you play the drums. There are several other more interesting games that involve doing arm movements including Rayman Raving Rabbids. This is one of the more traditional video game like games that ends up involving a good amount of arm movement mostly involving you shaking the Wii remote and nunchuck up and down.

Ninja Quest

By Joshua Cage

Ahh, Ninja Quest; the ambitious title about a ninja....on a quest, yeah. In Ninja Quest you first select your ninja out of a total of 6, whom doesn't seem to be any different from the others, aside from clothes, name, age, and so on. The game opens with a somewhat cool, somewhat corny intro that makes no sense apart from saving some no name princess from "the bad clan". You, being the nice and brave gentleman that you are have to go and do just that. With a nice selection of swords and projectiles on your side, you can't lose. Your introduced with a new sword at almost every level and as you slay your foes, there nice enough to give you there shurikens. These projectiles make the game easy, since they nearly take up a third of your opponents' health, making them a must have in your little ninja's arsenal. While the game tries to keep things a little lively by giving you more devastating weapons, the gameplay dies after the first 5 to 10 minutes or so.

Enemies are nothing but the left over characters from the rest of the 5 initial selections at the beginning of the game. The only difficult times are when your being ambushed by 5 or 6 of the same guys and you lack room to defend yourself, or when your trying to make a jump but fall a little short. Which brings up another issue, the respawn points after a death needed a little tweaking, as it will do nothing but drop you in the same exact place you died from, this makes getting jumps another shot a little annoying. You may find you get to the end of a level and you can't progress. Maybe because you have to defeat all of the enemies before you can move on, makes sense huh? To bad the game fails to tell you this small but useful information. But, all in all, aside from NQ's boring ending (save princess, tittle screen) Ninja Quest is a decent game if your to bored to care if what your doing is fun.
Overall

Action slasher with a paper thin plot, boring but fun in spurts gameplay with a horrible ending. Nothing spectacular but don't take my word for it, click the link and try it yourself. PEACE

My Thoughts on Tetsuya Mizuguchi

By Chris Jonesy

If you haven't heard of him, he's guy that had made titles like "Rez" "Lummies" "Space channel 5" and owns "Q entertainment". He is a real innovator when it comes to music themed games or as he calls them ""music interactives" giving himself such an unique identify within the games industry. Here I've taken a quote from my favorite part of this interview:

"Eurogamer: So you feel like technology is keeping pace with what people actually want from media? Some people certainly seem to feel like technology is ahead of our desires.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi: I'd like to think that human desire is always walking ahead of technology. I hope so, anyway. I think that every product - including games, entertainment, every piece of content or media - is always designed by human desire. Whether it's invisible or visible, with shape or with no shape... Artificial products, created by human beings, are always designed by our desire and our basic instincts. If we don't feel like, "I want to do this" or "I need this" - if there's no trigger like that, then people won't bother. They'll pass it by and say, I don't care about that - this isn't what I'm interested in. It's a really simple point, but all things, all products, are like that."

He has a really interesting perspective on gaming with how technology and interactivity through technology is developed and created via our own human desire which is something I've never thought of this in this way before. I've always thought that the latest current technology inspires new ideals for gaming like "Half life 2" for an example using Havoc physics or "Quake" using internet making it one of the first FPS online multiplayer experiences. Modern technology reflects what can be created within computer games medium, but it is of course its human desire/determination for discovery that creates technology and uses this technology in different ways catering for different needs.

My previous mentality regarding games technology was brought across from game developer's attitudes to their game development process and the type of games they produce, for example say "Epic games" are known for their hard focus towards producing advanced technology/engines such as "Unreal 3 engine" for their games whereas if you look at company like "Square Enix" they focused towards making more artistically creativity titles with the art and story being their main focus. Both of these companies produce high level of visual quality to their games via though different approaches; they are two opposite ends of the same Spectrum, art on one end and tech on the other end. I always used to dislike PC gaming for their heavy use of technology and lacking methods of creativity like Japanese console developers who seem more advanced in their art skills (Now I think I was quite naive to think that).

This has got me thinking about how it's all just a balancing act between the art and technology for the creation of a game but what really makes a game beautiful is fulfillment of your desire as gamer, remember the first time you got the sword in "Zelda: Ocarina of Time" or your first online deathmatch on "Quake 3" or when you figured out how to kill Psycho Mantis in Metal Gear Solid, these are moments of fulfillment, joy and pure escapism that I will treasure in my heart. This is what I call good game designer thinking of the next thing we desire as gamers and people as it doesn't matter what approach is used for creation of the game but belong the designer allows his/her creative ideals push through into the product fulfilling people's desires. Like he says "It's a really simple point, but all things, all products, are like that".

The key to design is thinking out of the box, out of your field of expertise I believe and seems like he knows what he's talking about. Thinking about this topic has changed my thinking process towards games design as you have to think what people want next through the evolution of technology and surrounding pop culture but also have an understanding why they desire that, then you can truly capture people's hearts.

Atomic Racer

By Chris Ingram

Flying down the highway as fast as possible is a dream only some of us, most likely with a consequence have experienced. Atomic Racer grants you that wish with rockets and explosions to boot, of course without the tickets. You hop in your pseudo street racer car and fly down the freeway guns blazing. Your one and only objective is to get to the nuclear transport before it reaches its destination and blow it up. Since the transports are humongous they're easy to spot on top of the fact you have an indicator for them. Just in case you're going a little too fast. The biggest and only danger is running into other cars while in the process.

Overall

Atomic Racer is very entertaining for an atomically small while. You only have one primary objective which is to blow up the nuclear transport. That's fine but you have all day to do it, as the transports don't have an actual destination and don't blow up prematurely. This can get repetitive faster than the actual game is. If the devs would have added a little more....ok a lot more, atomic racer would be a must play title. Gameplay is entirely solid just not realized to its full potential. The game itself looks ok, the explosions that happen here and there leave you with a little something but not enough. For the 30 seconds Atomic Racer leaves you entertained, I know something else I can do in the same time with a little more pay off.

Zombie Rampage

By Joshua Cage

Zombie Rampage is an all out gore-fest to say the least, but with a name like that these things come as no surprise. The object of the game is to shoot the horde of different types of enemies headed your way by either protecting your base in Defense Mode, or ranking up on kills in the Survival and Experimental Modes. One major difference between the modes worth noting (specifically Defense and Survival) are the amount of experience points distributed in the beginning of a game. Yeah, you read right, experience points play a huge role in this shooter, as they can be used to buy better weapons, health, and theres even a few power-ups for your little zombie killing machine. Then there is the Experiment Mode, which has you calling the shots by controlling the number of enemies that are thrown at you at a given time.

If you enjoy games with vibrant colors and diverse landscapes look elsewhere for it never changes at all, the setting in ZR is what looks like a desert with nothing but your base and zombies flooding the screen all in a bird's eye view. What the game lacks in visuals, it makes up for in sound and gameplay. You'll never get tired of hearing that gut-wrenching squash you get when you obliterate a zombie into several pieces leaving his bloody carcase to pile on the other hundreds you killed before.

Overall
A highly addictive shooter with some RPG-like elements, variety of modes, and cool weapons, what more could you ask for?

Bomb-a-Bomb

By Joshua Cage

Were you the kid that put fireworks in your neighbor's mailboxes? If the answers yes, then bomb-a-bomb's the game for you! The premise of the game is very straightforward; blow everything to an oblivion. But as you progress though the games 40 stages things really get more complex and interesting. Each stage will have you essentially doing the same thing, but the way you go about doing it is what makes this title fun.You start off just lighting grey bombs ablaze with your candle shaped cursor, attempting to string together the exploding bombs in what becomes an all out fireworks show. But as more bomb types are introduced the puzzle element of the game really comes into play, as some bombs aren't meant to be blown up, while others could cause instant failure. The fun doesn't stop there, as not only are different bombs added to the equation, but also different explosive devices like timed bombs and instant bombs are added to the mix. These things change the way you play and always keep you on your toes, making what could've been a boring fireworks simulator a true puzzler.

While playing Bomb-a-bomb, I couldn't help but notice it's cute presentation, that may or may not have been loosely inspired by games like bomberman. I don't say that as a bad thing, I actually quite liked it myself but I think this is the part of the game that might not cater to everyone's liking. If your mature enough for it, this title is definitely worth a try.

Overall
Fun game, lots of levels, and never gets redundant. Sometimes a victory requires more luck then skill, art style may turn some gamers off, and some of the beginning level instructions could use a spell-check. All in all, it's a great flash game that's loads of fun.

Legend of Zelda - Phantom Hourglass Nintendo DS Review

By Christopher Sawyer

System: Nintendo DS
Year Released: 2007
Graphics: 9.5
Gameplay: 10
Sound: 8.5
Lifespan: Medium
Pros: Great use of touch features, write-on maps, great puzzles
Cons: A little too easy, too short, not enough side quests
Overall: 9.5

Maybe one of the greatest things about Legend of Zelda games is that the games are full of action, and always deliver an enjoyable experience. That, and the "slap yourself in the head" that occurs when solving a puzzle where the solution is so incredibly obvious, you take forever to figure out.

More than once, I found myself commenting on how Zelda games continue to have the said moments.

That said, let's head right into things.

Nintendo seems to be taking it's character from Wind Waker, and using him in portable systems. This Link seems to be comfortable here, and most comfortable on the DS. The graphics fit beautifully on (a) small (dual) screen(s). I've always been a fan of cell-shaded Link, as the cartoonish graphics allow a lot more artistic and expressive artwork to be featured more prominently. However, I feel as though the dungeons could have used a bit more, perhaps a 3d scrolling feature. I also noticed some slower frame rates while fighting the final boss.

Zelda games are known for their fun and engaging game play, and Phantom Hourglass is no different. Many games assign the stylus wanton functions, in that buttons are better served with the respective functions. However, Phantom Hourglass can be played with the stylus entirely -- in fact, I did not press a single button while playing! It's use of the stylus is efficient and natural.

The game had relatively decent music, no different than any other Zelda game. This is not a bad thing, because the music is great.

I do have a few issues with the game. Phantom Hourglass is limited by the DS's hardware, and does suffer minor latency in a couple of boss battles. This is not enough to distract from the battle, or the game itself. However, I did find the game to be on the easy side, and felt it could have used a bit more side quests and collectibles.

More high points: The salvage arm mini-game is fun and challenging. Also, Dee Ess Island and the target shooting game both were enjoyable. Overall, a great game -- highly recommended.

Naruto - Rise of the Ninja

By Kristen Barghout

Naruto: Rise of the Ninja follows the story of the popular anime series. The game's style is that of a 'beat 'em up' with RPG aspects, for example, your character's stats do increase and they will learn new moves and abilities as the game progresses.

Whilst I really liked the style of this game, and the use of cell-shading I was disappointed that the developers had not re-animated the cut scenes in the same manner (unlike the new Dragonball Z game), instead they have simply inserted actual slips from the anime into the video game. I actually find this to be quite lazy, especially since the game can be completed in about 10 hours. If they had added some nice CGI it would have made it a little bit more enjoyable.

Despite the length of this game, I really enjoyed playing through it. The graphics are impressive, the story immersive and the voice acting exactly what you can expect from a top class anime series. However, despite the impressive graphics, there is one very obvious flaw, and that is the fact that the in game characters never actually move their mouths to speak, the voice over's simply sound, this is unlike the Dragonball game where they speak even in battle.

I think that they have cut many corners in this game, there are things that I personally would have included in the game in order to improve the style and feel of it. I would have been much more impressed if they had bothered to animate things other than a simple walk, run and jump cycle. The fact that they simply didn't bother to animate the mouths at all throughout the game, leads me to believe that they simply wanted to release this game as soon as possible, with as little work required.

Missions CONSTANTLY require you to travel from A to B, and then back to A, and back to B about five times before you can proceed with the games actual story. This becomes ridiculous and irritating after the third time, and I couldn't help but think I would have enjoyed the experience a bit more if they had bothered to allow you to be transported to the correct location.. And before I get the, "Maybe they couldn't" line, they could and this is proven since after each mission, you can warp back to Leaf Village.

However, despite the many gripes I have about this game, and its lazy development, I am still highly pleased with the game and have enjoyed playing through it, and even though the game was only 10 hours long, I felt should it have continued, my patience would have been tried. I have even decided to watch the complete Naruto series, something that up until now I have failed to manage.

So, hopefully you will find this review useful, and I hope it helps you make the correct choice in your next video games purchase.

Dragonball Z - Burst Limit

By Kristen Barghout

I purchased the XBOX 360 version of this game on the date of its release, and I actually played this anime game for over 5 hours as soon as I got home. The reason why is very simple, this game can be summed up in one word and that is, amazing. This is definitely not your everyday run of the mill fighting game.

The most amazing aspect of this game is the fact that they have taken actual footage and clips from the Dragonball Z series, and animated it into a cell-shaded work of art. This game also has the advantage that most of the voices are from the original series, with the addition of Vegeta being voiced by Christopher Sabat and not Brian Drummond. This is not exactly a problem as Sabat did voice over 200 episodes, whilst Drummond did about 50. But as simple as this touch is, it is something that many anime games fail to implement.

The game play is also simple and easy to use, and you can even equip cut scenes that can help you during the battle. For example, in the Saiyan saga, you can equip Kururin (Krillin in the UK), and he will aid you in your attack once you have reached all the requirements. These requirements can range from dealing X amount of damage, to taking off X life bars whilst you yourself have two.

This game is ridiculously pretty and extremely well made, though I was annoyed at the absence of the Buu Saga. The Buu Saga was the final chapter in the Dragonball Z saga, and I'm not entirely sure how you can call it a Dragonball Z game when it lacks all the sagas from that series. I mean, it even includes the stupid Brolli saga, but neglects to include the Buu saga which would have introduced to us all the fusion characters.

The reason this is also an issue is because it means that the next game they bring out can't be a Dragonball Z game, only a Dragonball game, or a GT game, which if they were to included the Buu Saga in this, then that would be incorrect as these series' are about 15 years apart. For none fans, this may not be an issue, but it is a huge contingency error, and they would in fact do better to miss the Buu Saga out all together, which would be a huge shame as it is in fact one of the coolest.

So if you like the Dragonball Z anime series, you should love this game, as it brings you everything a fan could want.

Wii Fit - Fills Your Exercise Regime With Fun and Excitement

By Tiraton Athiwat

Do you find exercising a boring activity? Do you want to remain fit but are never able to follow the exercise plans strictly? Then Wii fit is what you need. This gaming exercise transforms the boring task of exercising into a fun activity.

Wii fit is basically a video game that is the brainchild of Nintendo for the console of Wii. The concept of this game is based solely upon the exercise activities by using the peripheral of WII Balance Board.

Under this, the board of balance first measures the user's gravitational centre of body along with their weight. The software calculates the index of body mass index depending upon the height of the user. This interesting game consists of about 40 physical activities such as push ups and yoga among others that can be enjoyed immensely by the person. The best part of the game is that players can compare their fitness progress through the channel that gives all the related details on the wii menu.

Following are some of the advantages that are inherently attached with these gaming exercises:

• Simple aerobics: The Wii video game system of Nintendo is simply like aerobics. It's so exciting and can make anyone stand up on their feet for exercising. These gaming exercises are especially beneficial for the obese patients or sedentary individuals/patients as these games will assist them to enhance their stamina. The best thing is that you enjoy along with exercising.

• Stability training: These exercises can do wonders for the fitness level of the user. The fact of the matter is that these exercises can let them maintain their balance without using cane or walker. The arms movement in the multiple planes will also help them to test their balance at different postures.

• Core strength: These sport games are well known for their fun factor and are a big hit among users for their benefit of increasing the core strength. The physical movement that is done through exercises substantially increases the core stability of a person.

• Strength training: Through these physical work outs, one can hope to build strong muscles. This all can be done in the fun filled environment.

• Balance: The amazing Wii fit will make exercise an important part of your lifestyle where the peripheral board of balance is the main attraction. With the board playing the role of a scale, force plate and BMI reader, one can also get the idea of even small variations in terms of stability and can be alerted instantly of any changes taking place in their fitness levels.

• Exercise plan: The Wii fit is programmed to keep a record of all your exercise plans including yoga and Pilate's program by displaying them in technical clips along with the onscreen cues. It also helps to keep you aware of your entire exercise regime and put focus on those areas of the body that need maximum attention. So, in short it can be said it acts like a professional trainer who can help you to stay fit and remain in shape.

Another advantage of this excellent game is that the player can track their fitness age by undergoing a body test, which determines the outcome on the basis of balance, weight and age.

Super Smash Bros Brawl - Worth the Wait?

By Abdelrahim Tewfik

The favorite game for Wii this season has been the third installment of the Super Smash Bros called "Super Smash Bros Brawl". This is the game which all Wii console players have been waiting for a long time. After much delay the game is finally launched and it is one of the hottest games right now.

Now let me tell you more about the game and why you should have this in your Favorites section. The most important reason is because of its game play, even if you are not a Super Smash Bros fan, you will get addicted to this game in the first 10 minutes of game play. It is just really fun when you throw your enemies out of the screen with those unique special moves. This game can be played on four controllers which are Classic Controller, GameCube Controller, Wii Remote and Nunchuk and Wii remote together. So you can choose whichever controller you are comfortable with and you can configure them as you like. The game can be played in many modes, which includes standard multiplayer mode as well as elimination-based tournament where a maximum of 16 players can play the game, solo mode which is not very different from previous versions where you have randomly generated matches. My favorite mode has to be Adventure mode: The Subspace Emissary which is a side-scrolling based game with a wonderful storyline filled with meeting more friends as you go along and fighting the Bosses with the help of your friends. Mario and Kirby start the game as they go along side-scrolling fighting the Subspace armies and meeting friends who help them out with their fight against the Tabuu and the Subspace Army and saving the Smash Bros Universe.

The multiplayer is comparatively lag-free and with lot of features like sharing game replays, screenshots and custom levels with you friends. The custom levels created by the users cannot be used to play multiplayer game, but there are tons of awesome looking levels so it is not a deal breaker. Even if you have no friends playing Brawl, you can join multiplayer game in Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and you can play with randomly selected participants. If you are new to Brawl and are intimidated with all Brawl PRO's, you can be a spectator and learn from the PRO's and then you can start playing.

Now to the most important feature of Brawl, it has 35 players to choose from. Some of the players are Snake from Metal Gear Solid Series, Pikachu from Pokemon series, Donkey Kong, Mario's alter ego Wario and the best addition Sonic the Hedgehog. Every Player has its own unique special moves and they are very much balanced. But I normally prefer Sonic because he is fast and can jump all over the screen. So the game is going on to become the "Game of the Year" title for Wii. If you have not already bought this game, now is the right to buy it. Work Hard, Play Harder.
